What a good game this is! I didn't know what to expect even after watching gameplay videos for this game. I bought it used ($34 at gohastings) because if I didn't like the game, I didn't want to be pissed paying full price. Man I'm glad I got it now. I never played Destiny Warriors or whatever this game was based off of so I'm not familiar with the gameplay. They pretty much drop you into the game. Sure they give you little tutorials here and there but many things I had to learn just by playing it. I think I pretty much have everything down except some things about the map but I'll figure it out.

Question about DLC... should I get it now? Would I ruin it by not playing the game though first before getting the DLC or does it really not matter?

The only thing I don't like about the game is that it's pretty glitchy and not as smooth as I know it should be. Sometimes the camera view drives me crazy. hopefully if they make another one, they spend more time on that.

Also, is there a way to keep your target on an enemy until they die? Holding it down doesn't work. I have to keep pressing L every so often to get targeted on an enemy.

Doesn't matter. Most of the DLC content is just extras and doesn't affect the game itself. I recommend you play through the game first to see if you still like it after that and want to buy the DLC.

This is your typical Koei Tecmo standard game. It doesn't matter if they collaborated with Nintendo on this one, if you ever see Koei Tecmo or just Tecmo or the KT logo anywhere on the game cover, expect glitches, framerate issues, and random bugs. This is just standard fair for the company.

When you lock on once with L (don't keep it pushed down), it should keep the camera lock until you press L again.

It doesn't matter when you purchase the dlc pack, however if you want the dark link costume then you should by the bundle prior to the release of the dlc. Content-wise you won't be able to do more than the sidestory of the legend mode unless you finished the majority of the base game due to it's difficulty.

The reddit sub has a bunch of tutorials so if you still struggle, then you should pay it a visit.

Thanks guys!

For some reason that's not working for me. The target stays on the enemy and then I will dodge and attack or move away from the enemy and the target becomes unlocked and I have to press L again.

Yeah it's real annoying but I guess I have to deal with it lol.

Another thing is that when you target on an enemy and you want to move it to the left or right to another target, it doesnt work and sometimes it get's stuck. Yesterday I was stuck on a Mama Cucco and couldnt break away from it. It would make it hard to run and I didnt want to attack it because lord knows... lol.

Maybe they will release a patch for this game but I doubt it.

I also really need to get this game, I occasionally play Dynasty Warriors 8 on PC, and love hack 'n slash games in general. After watching PBG's and The Completionist's video of this I really want to get it, but can't afford it right now.

Don't spend too much on this. It's not worth it.

If you reskinned a DW game on PC with Zelda content it'd be pretty much identical because after all it's just a reskin. And as for music just play any of its scores.

Every hack 'n slash is basically the same :P

As long as it has fun characters and fun weapons I don't mind really. I think that €30 is a decent price, but since it's a Zelda game, it probably wont get cheaper any time soon.

No.

Every DW is identical as Omega Force just changes the skins and then sells it as a "new" game.

It's much of an update like EA updating the roster of FIFA/Madden/NHL and selling it as the next new game in the series.

The same regarding game mechanics I mean. I've played Samurai Warriors Chronicle on the 3DS, and the mechanics are as good as the same as DW8.

If you buy the game, it's money well spent.
The amount of content you get is amazing, and if you buy the Hero of Hyrule DLC you can keep yourself occupied for a couple of weeks atleast...

I've never played any games like this before, but i have to admit that i simply love it.

Ohh, and don't listen to WiiCube, he clearly has no idea of what he's talking about.

Ever played Chaos Legion?

I wish I could say the same... I completed the main story arc at all difficulty levels and collected all Gold Skulltullas in just two days. I wish the Adventure Mode was more fun because it's not, otherwise I'd get more play time out of this game. It's a glorified Dynasty Warriors game at the end of the day and whether that's good or bad depends entirely on your taste in games.

P.S. I liked the game, even bought the limited edition with that scarf as I was hyped for it. I sold the game some time ago, it was just another one of those games that you complete once and find no reason to go back to.

Last weekend I played Mystic Heroes on Gamecube. Still more fun than this game, you should try it out. : )

I still don't like HW for the "fake" extra content in my opinion. The game feels uncomplete without the DLC, and even then it does not add much more to the game. Not more monsters or stages, just new variations of the same things - again, and again and again.

Mission A: 1 Dongodongo
Mission B: 2 Dongodongo
Mission C: Damn, we've run out of ideas.. wait! Let's do it like in mission A, but when you get hit you lose all your hearts but one. Amazing idea!
(That's Nintendos idea of difficulty in a nutshell by the way. "Hero mode"? More like "We are to lazy to really change something in the game, so no hearts and double damage for you mad adventurers. Have fun with this senseless change we did in 2 minutes!")

And the characters scream too much. Like all the time.

Its a solid game of course. But in comparison to Mystic Heroes it tries to be more than it is in reality - a monotone slasher taking a ride on the Zelda franchise. But it has a good artstyle.
