Hacking In a nut shell, how can i make sure i wont get banned?

I have a sky3ds and plan on buying the new 3ds tomorrow. the last thing i want to do is have it banned right off the bat, so what do i have to do to make sure this doesnt happen? I know that you have to change the header from public to private, but have no idea how to do this. I also read something about unmodified templates are also being banned, what do I have to do to modify it safely?

are there any reports of the new 3ds getting banned and are the flashcards compatible with the new 3ds?

As far as I know, Sky3DS is compatible with ALL 3DS.

As for not getting banned, some recommend not going online at all in games. But then that's the same as being banned lol

The disk writer tool for sky uses public headers for each game but in my opinion thats a problem because all the headers are public

Buy your own game or find a friend who will let your rip one from the retail cart but that won't solve the problem of nintendo seeing 2 of the same header online at the same time.

No you can't "make" a header each cart has its own header

so when people are talking about private headers, what are they talking about then? also, what is a CIA? ive seen people talking about that as well.

sorry for the noob questions. I just discovered the ban an hour ago and trying to figure out whats going on and how to prevent it.

Private headers are the headers you would find on a physical cart you own they can be ripped from a rom using gateway rom patcher. a CIA is basically something you can install to your system nands home screen like the downloadable versions of Pokemon for example or taking a 3ds rom and converting it into the CIA format so it can be launched from there.

You're a Sky user so don't worry about CIA format. That's for Gateway users and it's essentially the game being saved to the SD card and played like an eshop game. Sky can't do that. He asked so I gave an answer regardless you need a game you own to get a "private" header

Yeah I think we posted at the same time haha. Yeah it's good that you gave an explanation, I just wanted him to know that it doesn't apply for him since Sky is pretty limited. But yeah he needs his own game to rip the header. Check the bargain bin for some $5 thing.

you can use a header from any game you own AFAIK, not specifically the same game. so suppose you have a retail copy of star fox 64 3D, just take its header and use it on all your ROMs and just make sure none of these ROMs are ever online at the same time (i.e. don't give your ROM with your private header to a friend which runs a risk of you both using the same header simultaneously)

So it said that it is for 4.1-9.2 console, I think mine is 9.4? does that mean this will not work for me? not sure how to check what version i have.

So this will update the current version of the rom I have and i wont have to worry about being banned as of now?

That sounds kind of risky that sounds like swapping the KV files for two different 360's wouldn't it be obvious from nintendos end that all your games have star fox 64 3D headers or is the header just acting as a license to say "Hi nintendo im a legit cart nothing too see here".

you can edit the 3ds file and add your own header that what makes it private its a header for a game you own.
