Suggestion OUYA Section Please?!

May we please have a OUYA section or at least a general Android Gaming Devices section that is split into the following?

OUYA
GameStick
Fire TV
Android TV Devices
Shield

The first three either runs on their own fork of Android or a heavily nodded launcher. Android TV and Shield are probably closer to Vanilla. Also, the first three DO have exclusives. Not to the level of Sony, Nintendo and Microsoft but they are there.

On this forum, new sections are created as the need for them arises. In the case of dedicated Android gaming devices, you run into the fact that few people on this forum own them, and of the few, almost none of them opt to discuss these items. What would be the point of creating, say, a GameStick section if only three people own a GameStick and only two of them care to discuss it? Say a few dozen people own a Shield device: how many of them actively make it a point to discuss them in existing topics?

As it stands, discussion for each of these items can easily be contained within the Android forum and other relevant sections as news arises. There just isn't enough discussion on these devices in general to warrant a whole separate section for them, much less a whole section subdivided into other smaller sections.

As much as I would -like- to see something like the OUYA have its own section, or even just android gaming in general, there honestly isn't enough activity here to warrant it yet. If something happens tomorrow and Android gaming EXPLODES and stays that way with no foreseeable end, I think we would definitely consider maybe making an Android Gaming subforum. As it stands right now though, Android gaming as a whole is a fairly weak topic on GBAtemp, even more so if you start to divide it by device. It would be like breaking down "Other Consoles & Oldies" into Sega Genesis, Atari 2600, Colecovision, NES, etc. Some of these old consoles might get one or two threads a month, tops.

I'm by no means the be-all, end-all to this discussion but personally I think that for now, keeping Android gaming in the Android subforum will suffice.

The interesting thing though is where the "proper" subforum for something like the OUYA is. Android? General Gaming Discussion? Other Consoles & Oldies? Maybe not GGD, but the first and last, it's a tossup between those IMO.

I would love to see an Android section for games and reviews and the like.

I am sure there will be a section eventually for that kind of stuff, but in the same breath I feel Android gaming is still in its infancy (as much as I love my TV sticks, tablets, and dedicated Android gaming hardware.) So the powers that be are justified in saying no for the time being.

Hmmm kinda skimpy, needs a reporter reviewing samples sent by a company. Some sort of sponsored thing maybe lol

Would love to see gbatemp turn into the go to place for this stuff as it is with so many other things. (would save me a lot of surfing lol)

Psionic Roshambo believe me I'd like to see it too! Unfortunately the review copies of Android games that we get are few and far between, I'm not huge into mobile gaming myself so I don't often buy games on my phone, and I can't speak for any other staff members.

Yeah Android phones kind of suck for gaming, there are much better options for games with Android than phones. Even tablets are limited in my opinion. I should send some contact info to some random reporters and see if the company reps I have contact info for would be interesting in sending review samples of hardware and possibly some games to demo on said hardware...

Since we have a section it looks like all it needs is some one to breath some life into it
