Probably not possible to delete update messages, but something that IS possible with NAND editing is unbanning from online services, like SSB4 when they ban you for no reason.Another Thing. Lol thats what I thought. What CAN this be used for, then?
I want to download this, but... I worked hard on those puzzles. I can't cheat!
That being said, very cool! Well done!
Yes. Actually, you can try it out yourself... right now, if you look at the source for playcoin.c, it edits filebuffer[0x4] and filebuffer[0x5], which 3dbrew documents as being the offsets for the play coin count in gamecoin.dat. By modifying it so that offsets 0xC - 0xF are edited instead, the step count can be changed.
Alternatively, use the precompiled version to extract gamecoin.dat, and use a hex editor to manually change the stepcount.
Probably not updates, but otherwise yes.
This isn't actually based on the SDK play coin setter. I just borrowed the name.
The home menu automatically resets it to 300 if it's any higher, yes.
Yeah... I was kinda lazy with this since I can't really see any use case not covered by 300/10/0.
Here is a short demo video:
