Hardware Do you think Nintendo's leaving Wii U in the dust this year?

Basing on the Nintendo Direct of yesterday it seems like it because they did little to no effort to inform people of Wii U's 2015 games or new updates about it. It was mostly just about awesome stuff for 3DS and New 3DS.

3DS gets "Anime Channel" with free anime streaming while Wii U's answer is Crunchyroll, meh, I'd personally have liked to have the option to have the "Anime Channel" on the Wii U since it'd cost nothing to watch from it.

2015 games announced for the Wii U:
- Kirby and the Rainbow Curse
- Mario Maker
- Mario Party 10
- Mario Vs. Donkey Kong
- Project Giant Robot (?)
- Project Guard (?)
- Splatoon
- Star Fox
- Xenoblade Chronicles X
- Yoshi's Woolly World
- Zelda
List compiled by Shinko from his other topic.

I'll say that I'm looking forward to Xenoblade, Zelda, Yoshi, Splatoon and Kirby (possibly those mech games too) but compared to 2014 this just feels like it'll be a pretty weak year for Wii U owners.

P.S.: The most important game of Wii U's history might be vapourware and I don't even need to name it. Curse you, Nintendo!

Um don't really agree with that. I was pretty taken back by Xenoblade X. They talked a lot about Splatoon too. They're about to launch the New 3DS in new territories so give them a break.

starfox, zelda and mario party are system sellers everything else is just a bonus they could have just did those three and called it a day, i don't know what else you expect they can't release every game every year.
besides thats all basically first party we could still get awesome unexpected third party titles at any time.

Mario Party is a system seller? It will probably sell OK but due to the lack of online play less people will purchase it.

I think personally this is my last nintendo console, they have so many games that they could make a new game or remake anno 2015-16-17 with.
And what they do is NOTHING and make another 3ds,yeah,everybody is waiting for a little bit souped up handheld while there main console is doing bad.
So its their own fault, off there are people that leading nintendo they dont know how properly set a new console on the market or they are stupid.
Its not all bad what they announce, but not enough for ME,for others its good.
so this is MY opinion about it.

mario party 8 for wii sold more than either zelda game, and it's been in the top ten selling games for a system since gamecube. they've bothered to make ten of them and a lot of kids and families get it so i think it counts. i know a girl with only two wii games both mario party.
it's not a game for gamers, i've never actually played a single mario party game but it's definitely a system seller.

You have to consider that the Wii U isn't the hotcake console seller that the Wii was, and most Wii U owners are Nintendo fans while some parents bought it for their kids.

The 2015 Wii U games that will likely be the top sellers are, 1) Zelda and 2) Xenoblade.

Star Fox WOULD be a system seller... If it wasn't just a HD version of Star Fox 64, broken down into multiple episodes.

It just depends on your taste I guess. I bought a Wii u mainly for Xenoblade X and also for Zelda so this year is the best for me :)

Back on topic. I saw more 3DS content over the past day than Wii U and its a crying shame. It's as if Nintendo is banking on Xenoblade and Zelda to keep the platform alive this year and say fuck January-October. Splatoon is nice but outside of that, there really isnt much. We really need another 2010.

This accurately describes why 3DS was the star of the show during the last Nintendo Direct and why the Wii U is not a top priority.
Good money after truly mediocre is a strategy that has worked in the past I guess.
I can't wait to be bored in HD. ;O;

Now the question becomes whether Monster Hunter or this, especially now it seems to have borrowed much of its playbook, with do boring better.
