And will gateway be ready for 9.4 and later?
What about sky3ds for 10.0?
And amiibo simulations?

Theres too many threads anymore since the release because the megathread was locked. Its all speculation at this point, information is becoming to hard to come by because its too scattered. A lot of threads could be merged TBH.

The problem is what if the new 3ds xl come with 9.4 or higher? And I really want to have the sysnand and to be 9.2 for those themes.

Can just buy an AUS/EU/JP N3DS instead. Or get a Sky3DS. Or just buy pretty much any 3DS/XL out there that isn't the new version. Lots of options.

Majora's mask will likely require 9.2 considering smash bros required 8.1.
Gateway support for 9.4 is POSSIBLE I can't remember where I found this, but they are waiting for the US N3ds release before confirming.
sky3ds can't be confirmed to work on a nonexistent firmware.
amiibo will be supported for all N3ds, and by the time of the US launch date, smash bros should be the first 3ds game with amiibo support
Gateway 3ds supports mostly all micro SD cards as long as they aren't fake.

The thread title isn't a lie. Somewhat. A quick search on any search engine of your choice "New 3DS US release" reveals the date is planned for February 13th. Many sites confirming it. I'm not sure if I can link or not. Most sites are reporting that only the N3DS XL will be released for the US at said date. So, customizable face-plates are a no.

I was talking about inserting launcher file in the new 3ds which uses a micro sdhc card.

Nintendo direct 1.14.2015 confirmed this, and there are 4 editions for now. And Majora's mask will be on the same day.
