Hacking Wii + Sundriver on 3.1, HackMii installer won't load.

Title says it.

I've got a Wii with a Sundriver installed.
Loaded up the HackMii installer with Bannerbomb and it won't go past the "scammed" screen.

Wii is completely virgin, no homebrew has ever touched it.
Sysmenu is 3.1.
I've done a format to get rid of the previous users save data.

I haven't ran anything yet besides the Sundrivers Gamecube menu.

Any help would be appreciated c:

Edit: Wii is a boot1 vulnerable Wii.
I'd like to have a NAND dump before I start modifying things on it.

As you have a Sundriver does that mean you have no DVD drive? This could be a factor in why the installer wont run, dont know why it would be but its possible....

Sundriver replaces the entire DVD drive yes.

I recall trying it with the DVD drive attached and it gave the same "error"

I think your best bet would be to update your wii to 4.2, as long as thats still compatible with your sundriver. I have a wode and im on 4.3 and all is still good, but a quick google showed that there may be problems with the sundriver and 4.3.

Once you are updated all your ios will be up to date.

Or you could try using a pc program called modmii, that has options to fix a broken hackmii installer as well as doing the complete softmod process.

YES TRY MODMII FIRST and see how you get on.

Me goal was to update to 4.2.
Or 3.2 and only update the needed IOSses for games and the IOS for the HBC.

i thought you was already doing with modmii...
btw, if you still get stuck on the warning page, try another sd card (must be non hc) in the first time i tried to hack the wii (was already sofmodded) the thing always get stuck at the warnign screen, i dont remember how but i think i formated the sd card or something because i tried other day and it worked.. remember to dont have anythig plugged but the memory card and wii mote

if you still aren't able to do it, try with a twilight hack or other gamehack

i don't remember but can't update teh wii with a game?

SD card is an old 2GB one.
Hacked several other Wii's for people with it so it's confirmed working ;]

All I care for now is to get HBC running on it and BootMii so that I can make that NAND dump

Hackmii Installer still hangs.

Downloaded it with ModMii.

Did you try Modmiis Hackmii Solutions page??... I just went thru the process for 3.1 sys menu and it gave me some wads to install......

That's the part where it hangs.
Doesn't go past the "scammed" screen in the Hackmii installer.

No you dont, if you run modmii and then type H it will then ask you which sys menu you are on, type 3.x and it will then give you a list of wads and a way to install them WITHOUT the homebrew channel.... This is to try and fix the Hackmii installer problem that you have.

It worked, got HBC running and BootMii as boot2 <З

no worries mate glad to help,

Now you have it working use modmii to get the syscheck app and run it on your wii, then take the syscheck.csv file it creates on your sd card and drag it onto the modmii.exe on your pc.

Modmii will then update all your ios etc for you and im sure you can stay on your existing sys menu.

USB loaders and what not won't be used cause of Sundriver.

Usb loaders have other benefits such as Ocarina codes (cheats) that sundriver/wode do not have... I use my wode exclusively for GC backups that dont work with nintendont. I have never used it for a single wii game

I would recommend updating to 4.2 or 4.3 but i would also google first to be sure that it will cause no probs with your sundriver. Like i said i have a wode and im on 4.3 and it works as it should, uses a gc iso as a game select menu same as sundriver i believe...

You can do everything softmod related using modmii, i suggest you keep it on your pc. Its proper handy to have just in case, besides even if you do update to 4.3 and it does cause problems im pretty sure you can downgrade back to a lower sys menu with modmii too!

EDIT : Just tried it you can only go back as far as 4.1 from 4.3 using modmii...

Sundrivers homepage said it would support 4.3
I'll do 4.2 first.

Cheats are not the only benefit of a usb loader, you have options to change/force video modes, using an emulated nand for your gamesaves.

If I recall correctly, SNEEK was the emulated NAND solution on the Wii wasn't it?

I barely have interest in Wii homebrew (mainly cause I got the 360 and PSP) to be honest ;p
Only thing I care for is the thing not breaking on me.
