Not that i'ts a big thing, Nintendo never really gave us a real support, they never cared about translation to our language like they did to Spanish and French, or making something to give us better prices or support... Wiiu don't even have an Brazilian eshop yet, the 3DS one lack a lot of titles and the prices are the same of the a lot taxed physical ones on stores The don't even let us ue club nintendo, if they know your account is brazilian they just delete with all points you had there .
I think they only added Portuguese languagem to the system menu and some eshop description (that we can see some are taken from European Portuguese) to don't let European nintendo get to support us?
Well if they care a little, maybe we can have at least better prices at eshop but I don't think that gonna make much difference from what we have now... As I told before, NOA never had really a base here

EXTREME high tax scares of the consumers.
How can producers make any money, if all consumers illegally import from another place for cheaper prices.

Yep, taxes are god damn high atm, it is insane!
Well, in the end, it won't make much of a difference, eShop probably will never get R$/PT-BR Support, we won't be able to buy games in non-gaming stores, etc. I guess we could see higher or lower prices depending on who is selling it.

Brazil is a PlayStation state these days anyways, formerly SEGA country, Nintendo never gave a damn about it and they don't give a damn now. I doubt they will be missed, those interested in their content can easily import the hardware anyways.

the better support we had about nintendo was on N64/GC times that the consoles where produced here just to evitate these import taxes and moving intern commerce, would be even better if they did stuffs like translating games or brigning some that NOA just don't cared about, but well they did something good at least :B
Brazil love to export their product to a very low prices (like 80% lower than it's sold for intern use, and with better quality), they should move the production of NoA stuff to here , then everyone would be happy xD

I'm glad Mexico (where I live) counts as part of NA so I don't have to deal with this kind of thing/

Technically, NoA was tosuppor all americas, but they don't care much about latin one

Please don't call it "European Portuguese" that's rather insulting but refer to it as Portuguese of Portugal which is where Portuguese originally came from and why the Brazilians also speak Portuguese.

It was pretty solid, we even had translated manuals, consoles made here in Brazil with PAL-M support and fancy commercials too.

So essentially you got about as much love as China with their iQue ploy, not official support with steady release streams - I wouldn't call that treating the market seriously.

yeah .. Gradient time were good .. I just wonder why they never translated much games... tec toy did it more times.... (but now tectoy is like a joke )

Well I think iQue have a all different propose ... Gradiente wanted to release the actual stuff but iQue, was more like "not so new but for us , our language and good prices!"... with 3DS and it's region lock was a pain for them being stuck with 10 games to choose :v
even before we had an suppot like this, we had some famiclones and a nesclone (also from Gradiente lol) and, enven by piracy they wanted to not delay much to give us new games.. even in japanese :v

Yeah, btw PAL-M is a weird thing, it is closer to NTSC than PAL. The only difference between PAL-M and NTSC is the color carrier iirc.

I guess so, but Tec Toy lost their steam with the Saturn being overpriced, else I guess Sega could have won the 5th gen of games.
And there is also the issues with clones, which were cheaper than the Master, but lacked the official support like translated games for example.

To be fair, you couldn't make an "affordable Saturn", it was very much a PlayStation 3 of its time - super-overengineered.

It's just a Politically Correct term rather than the authentic, Portuguese of Portugal. Your Portuguese is from Brazil thus far Brazilian Portuguese (although your/Brazilian accent resembles nothing of the real Portuguese) not "American Portuguese" (this term doesn't make sense at all).

As you may or may not know people from Portugal while being part of the European region prefer to have their language referred as Portuguese of Portugal rather than "European Portuguese" and you can tell why. British English isn't "European English" because again, it's just that and more likely than not there's teachers around European schools that teach American English.
