This look so nice to me! But I would like to have the whole Wii U Game Cube Adapter beeing Open sourced so we can do our own adapters with a teensy or some arduinos. Lets see where this leads to, if it will not be too much I will back the kickstarter campagne

I think this might be what I was looking for.... Can the d-pad control what the left analog stick is doing? Or is everything mapped d-pad to d-pad? Basically, I wanna play the new Smash with an SNES controller...

Smash Wii U is playable with an SNES controller. The configuration needs some tweaking but the not yet completed configuration app should help. I only tried it in classic controller mode on a wiimote, not direct USB. I even tried it with an atari 2600 controller for shits and giggles after playing some halo 2600.

So then I can use a Arduino Micro to get your code running?

Yes, since it uses the same atmega32u4. You might need to figure out the pins and/or maybe to tweak the existing code a little.

Other question is, will there options for backers to get adapter cables?

That's for sure.

what are all the options for controllers that plug into this?
I notice SNES, Gamecube, N64, etc as well as SMS and Genesis
will there be options to plug dualshock or original xbox into it as well?
I assume those would need seperate adapter cables, obviously, but which adapters come standard with the package?

As for the KickStarter rewards there should be some preset of cables coming as part of the rewards. Which cables the preset will contain will probably be defined by survey. Of course one will be able to buy cables separately or make them since they use common components and are easy to make.

KADE miniConsole+ does PS1/PS2 input and classic xbox output. There's no option to have USB based controllers as input.
