You put them in a folder called SNES in the root of your SD?

I finally figured that out. It HAD to be EXACTLY "SNES".

However, i tried it with Super Mario World and it had problems... blank squares....

is this the best emulator for the R4i? SNES wise?

Yes, SNEmulDS is the best emulator for the Nintendo DS (unless you had a Supercard DSTwo, which have a better emulator).

According to the compatibility list: "SMW will work fine until the boss battles. Some minor graphics glitches and sound gargles. HUD not entirely visible. Use v0.6 WIP2 and use Squish HUD to fix the HUD. (use BG1:3 BG2:3 BG3:0)." But I never had that kind of problems.

Maybe, if you download this rom "Super Mario World (U) (V1.0) [!]", you fix it.

I have a DSTWO....I just got this cause its cheaper.. and for a friend... needless to say I wont give this card to my worst enemy.

DS games wont play...they just freeze...

I tried with 1.80 and 1.81.. first they say create save file and freeze...then they just freeze when i soft reset.

i had 1.80... now its on 1.81

i can try formatting it again and putting just the firmware on there alone.. see if it loads alone.. then maybe a DS game

I formatted it this time with EASEUS Partition Manager...

this time it loaded up the DS game.. now time to see if the SNES will work.. then game boy... then test them all again see if they all work together.

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
    nvm it does support mine
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
