Hi,

I wonder if anyone can answer a couple of questions I have? Basically, is it okay to boot into gateway mode if there isn't a micro sd card in the gateway?

Oh, one other thing, the gateway card is the spring loaded version and I'm not planning on using it for about 6 months (it's a present for my son and the chance to buy it came up unexpectedly). I was wondering if it's better to store it with no micro sd card inserted or with? Would it make any difference to the longevity of the spring mechanism?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The gateway does not fuss at all if you try to boot into GW mode with just the red card in the slot but no microSD in the red card. Very handy if you're short on SD cards but use CIAs.

As far as the spring, I'd have to assume storing it in the least stretched position would be best, so without a microSD in would be ideal. But I'm no expert on that stuff. That's how I'm leaving my spring-loaded version in the meantime.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to answer. I reckon I'll leave the micro sd card out, not that it probably makes a huge deal of difference but I get paranoid about this sort of thing!
