Little late on the bayonetta hype train but decided to purchase the special edition boxset (1&2), started playing Bayonetta 1 for the first time and it's brilliant :D Really want to start the second one but I'm going the play them in order for now. What does everyone else think of this game?

I'm still Pure Platinum'ing my way through the first game. Almost there. Just a few more challenges in the last chapter and I've 100%'ed everything. I'll then move on to Bayonetta 2. :)

In short: it's a very, very cool game and a nice change from the regular Nintendo stuff we get. I'm glad Nintendo stepped up to make this a reality!

It's no wonder games like this and Wonderful 101 don't sell huge numbers; they're great and polished etc but they're hardcore as shit. I know there is an easier difficulty, but I sure as hell don't pick easy.
Yeah I agree dude, Wonderful 101 is a great game also but can be tricky to pickup at first, especially for a casual gamer. I'm playing through bayonetta 1 on normal and I've found it enjoyable at that setting, might up my game a little once I get into it :D

The first game is rated PEGI 18 and the second one is PEGI 16 from what I've played on the first game there's some F words and swearing thrown around. Not sure it would be suitable for a 12 year old ;)
Unfortunatly the swearing he hears leak from me occasionally. I was refering to all the crotch shots I read about in a review. :)

Most of the nudity is minimal and tbh you probably see similar stuff on day time tv ;) it's mostly the swearing and violents that warrants the age restrictions.

Bayonetta is a very sexy character though, so keep that in mind. Most of her movement, talking, actions, etc. has a certain "sexiness" to it that is thoroughly shown in various parts of the game. Don't want to come off as calling it degrading, because I personally find Bayonetta to be a very strong female lead who is very much in control of her figure and erotic person. But it's also one reason why the games are rated 18+/16+ at least in Europe, so I guess if it ever comes to explaining this stuff to a 12-year-old, then be prepared to do that. You don't want the child to grow up with distorted views on women. (Again, I'm not advocating you should go out and buy a Lammily doll, either. I have a 12-year-old sister who is content with herself and doesn't fear what others think of her even though she played with Barbie dolls at a younger age...)

I got a disc copy of Bayonetta 1 and I'm currently playing it with my Princess Peach PDP fight pad. Gawd damn, the Princess Peach costume alone, is worth the price of admission. I mean like.... fuuuuuuuuu!

Seriously, its a great game and I love the multiple play styles and the very easy mode so hopefully my wife should be able to get into it. but again.... fuuuuuuuuuuu!

I am playing through 1 before I play 2 as well and while I enjoy the game I am just not very good at it.

I am currently stuck in the tower where there are 2 mounted guns you use to fight this thing off.....I keep dying...I can't kill him fast enough and he has an attack that I have not been able to figure out how to avoid. I watched a walkthrough and the guy used some lollipops and killed the thing quick before it did that attack...do I have to use lollipops?

In what with what against what?

In would need some more details. I'm almost sure I know the passage you're talking about, (Played 12x through the game with everything, something like that) but I'm not 100% sure.

My guess:

I think I'm on Chapter 12 in the first game. I bought the 2 disc version, but haven't played in months. The first game is hard, at least for me. Too used to pokemon and smash bros, the dynamics and handle of the controls changed. Especially when going from a 3DS/GC controller, to Wii U Controller Pro (which looks like an Xbox controller, while the Classic Controller Pro looks like a PS one). All played in Normal difficulty, and mostly under the Link costume. I find its sword easier to handle than the guns, thus making it a hack and slash adventure. Damn though, the game is awesome, and definitely want to play the sequel. I saw the animated movie first, it turned me on (in more ways than one) to the games.

Yeah that thing, you fight it more than once but this is the battle in Chapter XV a tower to truth. It smashes the wall in and there are 2 guns you can use to fight it.

Okay.. can't remember having problems there.

Did you use Witch time when he shoots the normal rockets? A good time saver in every way. And how does that unavoidable attack look like?

Edit: Okay, just saw a walkthrough. Shoot him in the face, not the belly, not the arms, just the face. When you see the normal green rockets coming near, just dodge and use the witch time to shoot some extra bullets on his head. You can do it! :yay:

I didn't really use witch time but the normal rockets don't hit me too much. The attack basically looks like the guy turns in to a fireball and it does massive damage.

I watched a second walk through where the guy died the first time but the second time only faced that attack once and was able to beat him.

I read IGN where it says you can avoid the attack by running and hiding in the hall but I have not been able to do that when I tried either. I tried simply killing him as fast as possible and failed that way too.

Ill have to try this again because I guess I am getting close to the end of the game and I want to move on to bayonetta 2 :-)

Well I certainly hope he does. If not night have to have a paternity test. :)

Although from one trailer I saw I am a bit concerned about the apparent hirsute fetish going on.

I guess I'm still fairly early in the game. I just finished using the sandclock to repair the bridge so I can walk over the pit of lava. I'm still having a load of fun. My wife started playing today and decided to use Daisy's costume. I kinda wish there were more differences to the Peach and Daisy costumes other than the color change and small stuff. Maybe access to Wario instead of Bowser as a helper? Moving on, my wife is handling the game well. Very Easy mode and the ability to button mash helps her a lot. I'm surprised that she's not using the touch controls. The only snags she has had so far deal with moves that involve stick twirling and you can basically skip using those, outside the tutorial. I'm also playing on Very Easy but the pacing allows me to actually pull off advanced combos without much risk. It's lovely. Odd how my two currently played games are both third person "hack & slash/shooters", Bayonetta on Wii U and Implosion (for Android) on my OUYA.

I bought the Special Edition of Bayonetta 2 but never actually played the first one on Wii U, did however on 360 and really liked it. I should definitely try it out but it's a bit too late now due to Mario Kart 8's DLC 2 and 200cc are only 7 hours away.
