Today via NicoNico, SquareEnix have revealed an all new PS Vita exclusive title in the SaGa series. Little information is known apart from music by Kenji Ito and a 2015 Japanese release date.

Isn't the vita selling really really badly?
A friend of mine bought one a couple of years ago and recently sold it because there were only 3 or 4 games on it that he liked (fighting games)... And likes sony consoles quite a lot.

So why would they make a vita exclusive game?
(ok, it could be that they've got a deal with sonly, like platinum with Nintendo on bayonetta 2)

I wonder if they are doing it to test the waters and see how a exclusive PSV JRPG would sell on Vita.
Anywho I hope they localize this.

The Vita is doing fine in Japan and afaik passed the 10 mil devices sold mark.

Ah, so this is the game Square Enix was hinting at. I was really hoping for it to be something from the Mana series (Legend of Mana 2, omg, fangirl squeal) but a JRPG on the Vita is always welcomed. I'll need a new one since SE totally botched the Type-O HD version.

If only Nathan Drake wasn't completely correct.

Maybe they should reveal some GAMEPLAY for their new game. I personally find announcement trailers to be completely useless without showing something actually relevant to the product.

This isn't related to the Saga comic is it?
Not sure if that's sarcasm or not, but no. They are both science fiction, though. SaGa is a branch of Final Fantasy (although that was pretty much just to earn extra sales by calling it "Final Fantasy.") I never played the games myself, but only because I didn't know about them until fairly recently (a couple years ago or so). Since I don't like playing old games that I've never played before, I never got into it. Definitely willing to give it a shot, though.

The working title for the game is:

LOL: Never Coming to America

Yeah, but at least the Vita is region free unlike some other shitty handheld I know...;O;O;O;O

:)

Haven't played much of the SaGa games myself, though I've had them on a "to play" list for a while. Probably won't play this one either >.>

SaGa games were great! The concept behind all the titles was similar. Multiple heroes, each with its own goal and story, open world full of side quests and amazing challenges... And the graphics, the soundtrack...! Pure art.

My favorite was the Romancing SaGa remake that unfortunately hasn't been well received in the West. I have read very unfair reviews... But it's one of those games that you can repeat several times and still see new things, I love these ones!!!

Sadly as previously stated it's a nihon-only series nowdays.
