Someone asked me to write how I fixed this so I thought I'd post it in a new thread.
Ok here's the short of what I did so this is for Wii U/vWii!
I am not responsible for any errors or you bricking your Wii/WiiU/vWii.
Error 162-3006 Wii U/vWii
Have you soft modded your Wii U/vWii only you know!
Try 1
This is what Nintendo UK told me next.
I was told to remove the battery on the back of the Wii U gamepad, remove the power to the router & the Wii U all for 20 min.
After 20 mins put it all back together & back on.
Try 2
This is what Nintendo UK told me.
It may be possible to rectify the issue by changing various settings on your broadband router (please contact your ISP so they can configure the settings for you if you are not able to); Firstly we recommend using channels 1, 6 or 11 for best compatibility with your console. If your router has 'channel hopping' enabled please be advised that this should be disabled. The security type of the router should also be set to WPA2-PSK-AES.
Once the suggested amendments have been made we recommend unplugging the router from the mains power plug for 2 minutes or so, and reconnecting to the mains power so that the router is refreshed.
Try 3
If none of those work then you must have soft modded your Wii U/vWii
The problem is your Wii U is trying to update it's system files, mine downloaded the update fine but when installing would just shoot to the end of the loading bar & give me the error.
So whats stopping it is that somewhere on your soft modding travels you've patched an IOS you shouldn't have, & thats stopping Nintendo from overwriting it to update your system.
So......
1. Use Syscheck 2 ( https://code.google.com/p/syscheck/d...9.zip&can=2&q= ) the new version didn't work for me no idea why so I was told to use this one which worked fine.
Go here to see how to use it http://www.hacksden.com/showthread.php/505-GUIDE-How-to-use-sysCheck-posting-an-IOS-report
2.Here's my result
See that 'IOS15 (rev 257): Trucha Bug ES Identify Flash Access NAND Access' that means IOS15 has been patched and it shouldn't be!
So if your getting anything like this on anything else below IOS200 I'd aim to re install that.
3. Now the hard part you need to find a kind person on here who will PM you a vWii version of that IOS! I repeat a vWii version!
4. You'll probably get this as a .Wad file which you then open using Multi Mod Manager install this if you haven't already then go to 5.
http://www.hack-wii-u.com/multi-mod-manager-13-4/
5. Open MMM at the top go to IOS
Make sure cios236 is in the current loaded cios so select Cios236 & load it.
Come out of IOS then just install the wad using the normal Wad installer in MMM further down.
After installing I opened my Wii U menu & went to update. It downloaded as usual then took 10 mins to install which was a lot better than the few seconds it did before.
The update worked no problems then Mario Kart 8 updated no probs with the Amibo update.
Make sure you read all you can.
Make sure you get the right IOS, if you're not sure ask on forums double check everything just for piece of mind.
Any future wads or installs make sure it runs on a Wii U/vWii even if it doesn't say!
Some more info for after fixing the problem.

I hope that helps
If you get stuck post up on here & I'll try to help. If there's stuff you want me to add in PM me & I'll try to update this main post.
