here are some unanswered questions,
GW says 100% title compatibility in their video, so i assume they means ALL dumps, both cart and eshop, but they did not show eshop games loading or even on the GW menu

so are we to assume that eshop games will work?

and if they didnt show eshop games running and they have implied they do run by saying 100% of games working , should we also assume emunand works too?

and if we buy an AU NEW 3DS ,and it ships to US with 9.0 , and we assume there is no emunand to be on the safe side and want to update to the latest FW as instructed by GW , then will we be able to update an AU region console in the US OTA ? or will we have to use some trick with our router or can updated be performed in any region?

eShop games will work. They can be installed with .cia files or bought and downloaded through the eShop. That means nothing in regards to emuNAND, don't make any assumptions about that.

I can't answer on updating an AUS 3DS in the US, I'm not sure.

There's no issue updating an out of region system. There's no IP blocking if that's what you're getting at.

ah, I see!
they recommended users to update to 9.2.0, so I guess it's not 5.x-8.x compatible. but again, only speculation from my part.

I just questioned gateway on this since I just ordered the jap smash bro's new 3ds which comes with 8.x on it. so there is now a definitive answer

hopefully I can get it updated before Nintendo pushes a new update.

Doesn't DevMenu recognize .3dsx files? If so, then yes.

AFAIK, Gateway is only compatible with 3DS and CIA files, no 3DSX yet which is what some apps used in the Ninjhax exploit use.

If bought my Son a 3dsXl for Christmas and opened it looking for version#. It was 6. something or other. If I update right now am I safe?
Still yet to buy him the flash cart as I'm checking this site daily for more info.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I haven't heard of any new software update being released yet, but I would wait for others to confirm its safe.

Does smash bros NTSC have 9.2.0_20U on the cart? We can always update an older 3ds via smash after they patch the exploit?

No games have 9.0/9.1/9.2, and it's a definite possibility that none ever will.
