Hacking Can you rip a save from a friends game and play online?

I'd like to rip my friends save of Smash NA and use his save so I can have nearly everything unlocked, but I'm not too sure on the process/if it will work properly.

Id like to be able to go online, does the save effect that? (I can currently go online with my own save)

And can I confirm that ripping his save wont harm his save in the process?

Sorry for making my own post for this, but i've already tried the noob paradise with no success.

Since I assume his smash was played on an updated 3DS, the save won't work for you. It uses a different encryption.

There are saves around here and another forum that have stuff unlocked already. Just use one of those. (Or, ya know, unlock everything on your own)

So the only saves that can be used are ones created by a gateway effectively?(for Smash) I was looking for a save that actually had movesets unlocked, not just characters, and I have yet to find one and unlocking movesets in smash is the least interesting aspect of the entire game...

Pretty much. The save would either need to be made using a retail cartridge in GW classic mode, or using a rom in GW mode.

If you told me how to dump my save, I have 104/105 challenges done( last is COLLECT EVERYTHING!) and about half of the custom move sets (got the 250 milestone this weekend)

Nope, SaveDataFiler will export the unencrypted file which can be imported.

Now that ive gotten into cia's n stuff, wondering if there is any headroom to get a save at this point?

If I'm running the game from a .cia, is anyone able to rip their save and give it to me, assuming they also run the game in cia, or is that still not possible?
