So I turned on my 3DS today, and it said an update was available for Alpha Saphire. Oh, alright. So I go to download it, everything is fine.

But then, it brings up 4 icons(the little present icons when you get new software) I unwrap them, and it's all old software iv'e deleted in the past..um...ok, so I go to tap it, and it says the software isn't there and I need to download it. I say no, and it asks if I want to delete the icons. So I do that.

But then, I noticed something, all of the games iv'e bought on the e-shop have been deleted. I'm like "Oh, well that sucks..guess i'll have to re download everything.

So I go into the e-shop, and it won't let me re download anything. Everything says "title deleted" ok, what the hell.

I should also note that there's a "balance adjustment" from the 24th of November. I have no idea why, but it basically took my 83 cents I had left in my account.(Which I mean, whatever. It's 83 cents.)

But now I can't re download any of my games iv'e purchased! why?! I have no idea why this is happening..

My ambassador games, virtual console game, all gone. I should also mention that in the past, I traded in my old 3DS and got a XL. The XL had an account on it which I wiped. I put my own account on, but I was still able to re download the games from that account for some reason. I didn't know if this was ok to do or not. But I figured "Well, they're still here. So I think it should be ok."

To me, that may be the reason why this happened? although, I got my XL back in September. So would they not have done this earlier to me if they WERE going to?

Can somebody try to explain to me what happened? I have looked all over the internet and can't find anything useful about this.

It may just have glitched? Try calling Nintendo. You could also try unlinking your NNID and relinking it.

Doesn't unlinking a Nintendo ID completely remove content you've bought though?

I should also mention that I believe it did say something(when I went to get the Alpha Saphire update) about needing two SD cards...or something? I forgot. I wish I could remember..I have a bad memory.

It does, but relinking it adds it back.

You aren't supposed to be able to use the same NNID with two 3DSes. The correct course of action would have been to ask the store if you could open the box to do a system transfer before they took your old 3DS. It sounds like it was a glitch that they recently discovered and so they "fixed" the problem, so you might be screwed.

Unlinking in this case means formatting the 3DS, and adding the NNID again. But it's possible it won't let you add the NNID again seeing as you've used it on two 3DSes.
The only alternative to formatting is to delete the NNID altogether, which indeed deletes all the content on it. Which IMO shouldn't even be possible. It's stupid.

The XL was used. I transferred all my content over to the XL from my original 3DS(First I wiped the XL's data and then moved all my stuff over...I don't remember how the process worked exactly, but I remember pikmin moving my stuff over..heh.) So it practically was a fresh account. I completely wiped the 3DS XL just to make sure something like this would not happen.

I can try. But why would it do that now?

I'm going to upload a short video before I format. Just to make absolutely sure. I'll edit my post in a second here so you guys can see for yourself.

No idea, you might want to contact Nintendo. Maybe they could tell you why, and possibly fix the problem for you.

Ok, I made the video. Can you guys please watch it and tell me if you have any ideas? I realized I already explained it, but I thought if I made a video it might make my problem more apparent.

Just did a reformat...didn't help. I have no idea why it's doing this..

I fail to see hat the problem lies when you transferred your NNID, i did that to my 3DS when i got my XL, and i have had no problems with it whatsoever :/

(Off-topic: May I ask how you got your e-Shop background music to be of the PokeMart? is it due to a theme?)

I'm not sure how the music got that way, sorry.

I saw your gamefaqs post about this. Nintendo may have done this by total accident and messed with the wrong NNID, maybe. Hard to say...I can't see why they would purposely do this unless they thought you had stolen someone else's NNID or somehow used fraudulent Nintendo eshop cards to buy your games in the first place.

Yeah, as I mentioned, I did redownload someone else's games on the console(but I had wiped the console. Which is why I thought it was weird they were there to begin with.) So I did download the games(I was not sure if I was allowed, but they were there so I figured why not.)

That shouldn't be possible if the person that owned the XL before had an NNID. Did the system have an NNID or not? Because when you format a system with an NNID, you can't just redownload those games after you transfer to it like in this case. But, if the system didn't have an NNID, then the format would not have removed the eshop purchases and you would have been able to merge them just like you said you did and access them. If Nintendo was trying to help the person that sold you that XL get their games back, maybe they screwed you in the process without meaning to...you will have to call them and see what's up here. I'm curious to see what the deal is. Perhaps that person even went so far as to report the XL stolen?

Geez, I hope not. I mean, honestly, if Nintendo does not want me to play someone else's downloaded titles, that's fine. But I should at least get my own games back that I paid for.
