Hello, like the title said, i have some questions regarding the Gateway EmuNAND.

Can i upload the firmware of the emuNAND directly from the config menu?
I usually delete the emunand, recreate a new one at 4.X and THEN i update the firmware from the config menu.

If i can, in this way i don't lose the streetpass data and other save files like the Dark Notes of FF theatrhythm?
Last question: when i delete an emuNAND can i lose the patch/demo and other content downloaded from the eSHOP?

Thank you ^^

Yeah just update it. You shouldn't lose anything - but as always, bonus points for backing it up first (see "emunand tool" thread). Also, see noob questions thread.

Yes, you can update directly from system setting. Not sure why you'd delete the old one first.
This way you won't lose any data.
You won't lose savefiles and demos anyways since they're saved to the sd card and not the emunand partition (unless you didn't back up your sd card before choosing to format emunand....)

If your current emunand is an updated version of your current sysnand, then you can delete it and create another one. You'll keep your purchases.
BUT if you format your sysnand after creating your emunand, then it's like you had 2 different systems. If you delete this emunand all your content is lost.

The term is update, not upload :D
And yes you can update the emuNAND after gateway release a update launcher after Nintendo pushes a new system menu.
What you should do:
-1 - Nintendo launches a new system menu
0 - Gateway launches a updated launcher.dat file compatible with said system menu
1 - You download the new launcher.dat and overwrite the one on your 3DS SD card with this newer version
2 - You enter emuNAND
3 - Go to "system settings", check if there's the GW3DS text near the version
4 - Go to "Other settings", and "system update", perform the system update there.

VERY IMPORTANT:
* Always wait for Gateway to release a new launcher.dat or a confirmation that the update isn't needed here at gbatemp. If you update the emuNAND first and it's not compatible with the launcher.dat you will get stuck with black screens while booting the emuNAND.
* On steps 3 and 4 you should not leave the "system settings", I repeat DON'T LEAVE THE SYSTEM SETTINGS, or else you will be booted back to sysNAND
* Don't update from anywhere else, the "system settings" by now is the safest way to do the update.
* If you console download the update and starts asking you to do a update in home menu, don't do it, but you don't need to format the console, when you get a updated launcher.dat file you can perform the steps that I listed above in "system settings" while in emuNAND.

Last question: when i delete an emuNAND can i lose the patch/demo and other content downloaded from the eSHOP?

Doing it you will preserve the street e spotpass data (mii plaza, Theatrhythm Dark Notes/Maps and others), and it's actually the better way to update the emuNAND.

Edit (ninja'd): If you delete a emuNAND you will lose access to downloaded contents from eShop, so always try to update your emuNAND without formatting or doing a new one everytime Nintendo pushes a new update.

Thank you ^^
You are welcome, but next time you should read through - and if necessary - ask you questions here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/3ds-noob-paradise-ask-questions-here.359035/
