oR/aS is a Card 2 game, for those you will be able to convert/transfer saves between ROM and CIA (and different regions) easily as well as decrypting either for modification/cheats, so it doesn't really matter.
For most games however, CIA is currently the only option if you want to decrypt/modify your save, there are only a few Card2 games such as Animal Crossing and Pokemon. Because Gateway handles saves differently (not sure exactly what the difference is there), Card1 games (that save on a separate save chip) can't be read by SaveDataFiler. I don't expect that to last long though, as it should be a simple fix for Gateway to make saves work correctly in SaveDataFiler. They work correctly in games, so they could just apply that same method to SaveDataFiler to make it work the same as games do.

Well, how can you transfer a oR/aS .cia save to a Gateway 3DS .sav? Is it even possible?

I tried using savdatafiler to extract oras demo save from my gateway card, and then tried to import the "main" file into the cia version of the oras demo and it effectively started the demo over. I was doing this so I can get all my progress form when oras demo leaked into a cia version so I can use it to transfer stuff to the ORAS actual game. Does anyone have a way to make this work? Or perhaps a cia save for oras demo

Did it extract the save from the demo .3ds file?

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way

  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
it says it only works for the original R4, R4i Gold (r4ids.cn), R4iDSN (r4idsn.com) and Acekard R.P.G.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:

Just give it a try, but honestly if you have a 3DS you can play DS games without a card just off the internal SD card

Slightly slower loading but a bit more convenient
