Hi,

I need a bit of help from the guys that are in the know about PSVita hacking.

I have a PSVita and it was originally on 2.00+ FW until about 2 months ago when I wanted some urgent MP3's putting on it for a job I was doing so silly me did not realize there was an Open CMA hack available so of course I updated so now I am on 3.30FW, I didn't really even use the PSVita that is why its been sitting on 2.00+ for I don't know how long now!!!. I've installed the Open CMA and works a treat and I've unchecked all connections now, so would there be any possibility of the native hack coming to 3.30 FW or would it just stop @3.18 and that's it cause I'm quite major annoyed with myself as of lately seen as though I have been reading up on the latest info on the native hack! I have a PSP so I can still use Homebrew on that so its not a complete loss but of course a native hack means alot more for your PSVita in the near future. I could do with some good news please ;)

Edit: Worst case scenario, I can change it at my local CEX store for one on the correct FW for an extra £20.00 on top, probably would be worth it in the long run but if not and its just a case of waiting I would stick with the one I own now! :)

If you are truly interested in Vita hacking you should stick to lower firmwares. There is however a large chance that the Vita might not be hacked for several years and you will end up just waiting with a Vita that is collecting dust because you cannot play any new games on it. What feels more important to you right now? A bunch of sweet games has been released, take that into a account and make your decisions through that.

There has been a few screenshots showing some kind of eCFW hack for the Vita on the laters firmwares, though it's the usual PSP emulator hacking.

you are pretty SOL with 3.30 and above for the native stuff being worked on at the moment, doesn't mean they wont be a native exploit for that version eventually.

Hi thanks for the reply,

What does SOL stand for?. I could always do a swap @CEX for an extra £20.00 for a Vita on the right FW on top but do you think I should just stick with mine and wait and save my money?

Edit: also I have a PS3 so I can get the game and transfer form that but what game would I need of PSN for the exploit to work? what do I need to prepare? :)

there are private things going on with the vita exploits (like bubbles for homebrew)

but for what out there you really need 3.18 or under (see me

as for 3.30+ read me

So a quick update.

I did what I said up above and swapped my PSVita for a right spanker on 3.10 Firmware for an extra £22.00 in the end on top which I thought was not bad. I have ran the exploit from here: http://lolhax.org/vita.htm and it comes up with after a few minutes or so "Congrats, this ps vita is vulnerable!" so I presume that is good news for me?. So now I have got one on 3.10 what can I do exactly for the time being?, I could do with some help and a run down please. Thanks for your time on this and anyone else that has helped me out, thanks :)

Essentially right now you can do a whole lot of nothing. Custom bubbles haven't been released yet, and the webkit hack isn't developed enough yet to say for certain if they can get kernel level access from it.

Thanks yeah I knew the Native hack has not gone to far yet but something in my opinion is better than nothing but apart from that anything else I can do also I have a PS3 so will that help me in the future to get what I need to my PSVita?

Not at all! Well, maybe if one of the exploitable games for TN-V is still actually exploitable, but Sony stays on top of pulling those shortly after they've been announced, patching them, and tossing them back up in a pretty useless way. Otherwise all the hacks being worked on right now would be run exclusively via the Vita without anything extra like a bought game or otherwise.

what about the other stuff relating to ecfw? I don't know anything about that either.

There's not really anything else worth nothing. Avenues to TN-V and VHBL are only briefly revealed and then quickly cut off (at least this will be the case until Custom Bubbles), and nothing else is at a point where we can even touch it. I'd imagine Custom Bubbles is the only guaranteed hack we'll see anytime soon, and there's no current release date on that, though it seems to be fairly well developed, so I don't think the release date is terribly far off.

Custom Bubbles are just like the name implies: they are custom bubbles that can be installed on the Vita so that they show up alongside other legitimate content. There's a Wololo article with examples of everything accomplished, but basically they found they could install VHBL, TN-V, PSP games (regardless of whether they had been on PSN before, ex: they got FF Type-0 English patched installed and working), and haven't reported yet on the functionality of installed PS1 games. The one guarantee they gave at least at the time of reporting on this exploit was that unofficial Vita games would not run, so no "backup" loading. This should work for homebrew installation as well, though I'm unsure of its ability to take advantage of all of the hardware. This exploit works best on 3.18 and lower firmwares, but they did get it working to an extent on 3.35 as well. The best part of it really is that it doesn't require an exploit game, so people can sit comfortably on 3.18 and lower and not worry about having to update and grab an exploit game from PSN.

So I have heard from this thread: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?f=65&t=37671 you can get the Gladiator Begins Demo exploit free on PSN for 3.18FW and below and download it off the net from my PC onto my PS Vita screen, the game is there so do I just download it, plug my USB cable in and transfer it on to my PS Vita using OpenCMA? I'm not sure what I am really doing tbh some good advice would be appreciated thanks.

Edit: Its a Euro PS Vita on 3.10 so what is the easiest/best route to take with exploit setting up, files etc..? have opencma setup already and working.

You can't install the demos in the vita, the time you could was a error on sonys part and they patched it after a day or so.

Argh damn nevermind so how hard are these exploit games to get on your vita, I seen Patapon 1, 2 and 3 there on PSN so surely its not that hard to get an exploit game for 3.18 and below? Do you suggest I get an exploit game asap on my vita or just wait for this Bubble hack to surface?
