Does it even run on the exploit? Well, maybe... considering it doesn't rely on DS Mode exploit like flashcards do?

No, I think he meant to link to this thread. :P
didn't someone say there was a gameyob version with sound?

It should work with sound under the new ninjhax or if you install it as a cia file. Just don't expect much yet...

So for users using Gatewsy, GameYob (and the other emus) won't have any sound?

Well, gateway supports cia installation, so it supports sound that way. But for some unfathomable reason they don't let us give our .3ds files the extra permissions that we can give our .cia files.

By permission what are you referring to exactly?
Sorry if I ask too much, is just that I decided to go for a GW instead of the exploit due to obvious reasons...
(Not in stock anywhere near 100 miles)

Permission to use whichever services we want. In this case, CSND, which lets us do basic sound stuff. We can give cia files whatever permissions we want, it seems, but we can't do that with 3ds files under gateway.

Like in your computer, where you can set files to be "read only" for example, right? Gateway does this with certain fuctions, limiting access to them. This used to be because they roped off CIA files to hold back game installation, so that you could not, for example, installl a lot of games and then pass the Gateway on to another friend to do the same, etc. But since the CFW they opened the gates... sort of.

Oh so basically Gateway doesn't allow full access to everything in a 3DS file, but by doing a CIA installation that is bypassed... Am I right?

This version works on the homebrew launcher, a few things can be added and fixed like audio popping and video scaling other than that it runs fast and saves correctly nice work
