Hardware Just got a Component TV-Out Cable for my Go

It's real nice that PSX Games can be played full screen, but it's a shame that PSP games and emulators run in such a small window... is there anything that i can do to enlarge the screen size?

I also heard that you can use your PS3 Controller on the Go, so this makes it a nice PS One home console. Has anyone experience with this?

Try to see if your TV's Zoom function can fill the screen.

If your TV is not up to the job then you have the following options,

* FUSA
It forces PSP to render in 720 x 480. Not only does graphics look crap but framerate takes a big hit. Supported in very limited CFW (LME 6.39 is your best bet).

* Playstation 3D Display
A 24 inch TV with zoom function dedicated to PSP gaming. Discontinued in production so you'll have to settle on an used one. Has poor reliability.

* XRGB-3 / XRGB-Mini
Professional video scaler designed for retro gaming. They can handle more than just PSP. You'll have to import it from Japan and they do cost quite a bit.

Lenkeng used to make LKV7000, a PSP scaler that outputs in VGA that does not look like crap. Now days it is hard to find one.

Or just buy Vita TV. It can properly output PS1/PSP game in fullscreen.

As i said: PSX games are running in fullscreen, that's really nice!

I was just asking if there is a easy (software/settings related) method to get PSP games and emulator to run in fullscreen. All the options you've listed (thanks for the effort and your time to do this!), are really no acceptable options. Emus can be run on so many other devices, and for the PSP games... i'am not willing to invest any cash in them

Sony actually did a great job with POPS (PS1 emulator on PSP) that it can be run on 720 x 480 without a performance hit.

But PSP game cannot run smoothly on 720 x 480. Since Sony did not include scaler chip on PSP they opt for letterboxing 480 x 272 (PSP native resolution) on 720 x 480, hence the black borders.

In short, without additional spending the only way to play PSP smoothly in fullscreen is PPSSPP. If money can be spent then the cheapest way to play PS1/PSP in fullscreen is to get a Vita TV.

I was able to fix the letter box screen issue using some sort of HDMI converter that specifically to work with PSP.

plus one for Vita/Playstation TV. Especially when hacked with TN-V, it supports all psp games full screen with the extra of remappable second analog . HDMI is also better than component. Plus you can use a Dualshock 4 which is better than Dualshock 3 imo.

PSPHD42... an intresting piece of hardware. From 40$ up to 90$ on some sites/shops. A bit pricy for the few PSP exclusive games that are worth playing on a big screen.

As long as i can play Playstation 1 games in full screen, it's ok for me. If there would be a good software solution, i surely would invest some time to try it. But if only a 40-90$ adapter can do the job right, i drop out.

Well, as you can read above: Playstation 1 games are always running in full screen. If you want to run PSP games/emulator/homebrew in full screen, you have the above listed soft- and hardware options.

BTW: PSPHD42 works only with older PSP models, right? Not with the Go, correct?

PSPHD42, and other PSP to HDMI scaler are actually knock off of LKV8000. Unlike LKV7000 the video and audio quality is not so great.

For PSP Go on these HDMI scaler you'll need special adapter which is rare to find.

I'am running 6.39 Pro B6 (non permanent) at the moment. Can i use FUSA with this CFW? Is there a better (maybe permanent) CFW for the Go?

FUSA does not work on PRO CFW, only ME CFW.

No permanent CFW for PSP Go beyond 6.20.

Installing the 6.39 Pro B6 CFW was something i did 2011 ago... if i want to play around with other CFW's i have to read myself into that stuff again. I found 6.39 LME-10.2 CWF for download, will this CFW work with FUSA? Ho many steps to perform a CFW change from ProB6 to LME-10.2?

No permanent CFW for PSP Go beyond 6.20.

So, a permanent CFW is completely impossible for me, right?

It should work. Run the installer you used to install PRO CFW to remove PRO CFW. Find PSP update file that updates to 6.39, then run the LME installer.

thats not true im on a psp 2000 with 6.60 cfw, the exact system software says 6.60 pro-b9

actually according to serial # sticker at bottom, its psp2001

Right I forgot, some of very early batch of PSP-2000 does not have its bootloader encrypted and can run on permanent CFW.

But that has nothing to do with OP's case, a PSP Go.

yeah, I was thinking psp go can go up to 6.60 but I am probably wrong, I know it has a perm firmware, but I did it like 2 years ago and loaned it to friend, so cannot confirm.

Huh, I never knew these things existed.... I just looked them up, and they didnt make any for my PSP 1000 model. But could anyone answer this: Why does the PSP 1000 have an AV jack (the hole next to the headphone jack) if it cant output video?

I'm really let down that my model wont output to a TV :c
