Oh boy, what a week it's been for the 3DS scene. A few days ago, it was discovered that a flash cart called the Sky3DS was in the works that had the ability to play games on the latest 9.0 3DS firmwares. This flash chip, in the supposed price range of $120, could store up to ten games simultaneously and switches on the fly with a button on the cartridge itself. The real doozy this cart has people rumbling about, however, is the ability to supposedly play games without the need of a 3DS console below firmware version 4.5. Currently, the status of this flash chip is unconfirmed, but rest assured GBAtemp has reached out to the Sky3DS team for further information. We will of course keep you posted on any developments we receive, but for now, we urge you to take the information with a grain of salt. You can go to the link below for the ongoing discussion:
UPDATE 1: GBAtemp has reached out to its sponsor NDS-card.com, who has confirmed that the site will be receiving some stock of the Sky3DS flash chip, and that GBAtemp will be provided a review sample.
In addition to the wildfire of the Sky3DS flash chip, just today, the 3DS keys for Nintendo 3DS firmware v7.0 have been leaked. Using a decryptor, it is now possible to decrypt the latest games, such as the recently released Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Please be aware of the advisory - the leaked 3DS key contains copyrighted Nintendo code and as a result - this code cannot be distributed on this website in any way. The GBAtemp.net Staff is actively monitoring the situation and will hand out disciplinary actions to those who infringe upon the rules. Please reread the GBAtemp.net Forum Terms of Service for further information. If you are unsure, please privately message one of the members of the GBAtemp staff for further clarification!
