Hacking How can I play gameboy games on 3DS XL?

I have tried going to noobs paradise but they cannot fully helped me.

I was told I could use gameYob and I downloaded it but there's no insutrctions on how to do use.

I tried putting gameyob.nds on 3DS SDcard and microsd card in GW cartidge but I don't know how to find it on the 3DS or how to load games or any of that and I have searched a lot for this insturction but couldnt find.

Please help.

use the blue gateway with the gameyob.nds.

.nds refers to a nintendo DS image. what you need is a nintendo 3ds build of gameyob. it will end in .3ds

or what technicmaster says also possible. but i prefer .3ds so i dont need to switch cards

but as was already mentioned in noob paradise when you asked there is no sound on the .3ds version, but running the .nds version on the blue card means you can only run it in sysnand and will need to rerun the gateway installer from the blue card to access gateway mode again after you finish playing........so no perfect solution atm

Why? .nds = nds game that works also on DSi etc. and .3ds = 3ds game that doesn't work on DSi etc.

with the blue card you just run the game that shows up in the menu when your 3ds starts up.
after that you will be sent to the blue card menu, where you can navigate to the gameyob.nds file and run it.

Remember, everytime you access the blue card menu you need to reinstall the exploit for the red card.

Do you still have the blue card files (R4) on your MicroSD? If yes you only have to put the blue gateway into the 3DS' slot start the 3DS and start the game in the 3DS' Slot. Otherwise you have to copy the blue card files first on your microsd.

ok i understand now, I will put the blue card files back onto the micro sd card and the game file +
ameyob.nds and after I finish playing the games I will have 2 reinstalled GW using the blue card. thanks for helps guys

Yes. Just run the gwinstaller.nds (or however it's called) each time you used a DS game.

Alternatively you could get your hands on a 3DS compatible DS flashcart, the DSTWO comes to mind, and use that instead.

I'm sure the DSTwo is much easier for throwing games to emulate onto, but that's basically what he's already doing. We've already persuaded him to use the DS Cartridge that came with his Gateway to run the gameyob DS emulator. Not the 3DS emulator.
