I remember back when X and Y came out, I got the game on the night of release. I noticed the lag issue almost the first thing. I hoped that gamefreak would fix it. The 1.1 patch came out pretty quick, but it didn't help the lag at all. Then later the 1.2 update came out. STILL LAG! Now with the OR AS demo I opened it, went to select a pokemon and the lag was there, I played the first battle, still lag! COME ON GAME FREAK! FIX THE LAG!

Solution: (Possible) Make it like the Smash Bros where it runs in a high ram mode! PLEASE GAME FREAK! FIX THE FUCKING LAG!

Turn the 3d off for faster battle engine performance (but i suppose then you'll complain about not having 3d :P)

I admit the same battle engine issues grate, but overall, it still manages to be a much prettier game.

Gambia, The
technical limitations are above your personal opinion.
the lag didn't ruin X and Y and won't ruin ORAS neither!
Beside that, Super Smash Brothers is working on a completly different engine with
different visuals. There's a reason for GameFreaks limited access to the RAM.

Oh sure because RAM = FPS.

More ram does not always mean more fps, but lets say the game is running currently at 256mb and the game is using it all, you will notice FPS lag, if you upgrade to 512mb you will see a boost in the performance.
But on the other hand if you have 4gb of ram, and the game is running at 512mb, upgrading to 16gb of ram you wont notice a difference.

Maybe Nintendo made the games lag on purpose so you will buy the new 3ds to enjoy the games without lag....
Has anyone tried the demo on N3DS to see if it has lag?

more ram wont help
game freak is just being lazy as hell and not optimizing the engine
the first being just rehashing an old game and then using the xy engine for it which has known performance problems

I really hope people stop buying these games to show gamefreak this kind of developing wont be tolerated
but it will sell a couple of mill instead because it has pokemon on the cover...

That's only when the game needs more RAM. And low RAM causes stutters on PC because it has to use swap, not fps drops.

Dude... Its the point, not the fact of the CPU, it could be anything.

No because RAM isn't CPU.
Boosting a processor will make a game run faster in most cases regardless of platform.
Adding RAM, however, will only be useful to games that needs more or if the game streams data from a storage (like open world games). This is even less true on consoles.

Good thing I'm one of those people who can get eye strain from 3D. Only some games, though, Pokemon Y was one of 'em. But yeah. It won't ruin the game. I would imagine that lag was present in the X/Y demo yet it still sold like gangbusters. If you wanna shoot a message to Game Freak, pirate the game. Now that we have emuNAND and online gaming with Gateway, there'd be no drawbacks. It may take a few days if there's a new patch/AP that goes along with the game, but that's the price you pay for not having to pay any price.
