Hi guys :)
Im happy that new gateway firmware (fw) now supports emuNAND 9.x :D
http://www.gateway-3ds.com/category/news/

Anyway... my 3DS XL is on 4.5E emunand and real nand, and my gateway card is on fw 2.2

Now the thing is i want to update emunand and gateway firmware to latest.
first i want to ask, is that good idea, or should i wait for final release of GW fw? basicly i want to be able to play smash bros and all other new games that require new emuNAND... but should i just update GW firmware or both GW and emuNAND in order to play SSB??

Now thats all cool, but the thing im confuset about is next:
-how to make sure i DONT update real NAND and render my XL gateway unplayable?!
-in what order and how to update GW and emuNAND?
-and how to backup ALL game SAVE data so i dont lose them?

Thanks guys in advance! :gba:

this is the tutorial section dude, you are wrong here unless you intend to POST a tutorial, not ask for one ^^
just put the 2.4b launcher.dat on your 3DS SD(HC) card to update the gateway firmware
you can set up folders on your sysNAND and emuNAND menus to differentiate, what you are currently on
after loading emunand, go to settings and check if it says "GW" infront of the firmware number, if it does says so, then you are in emuNAND system settings, if it doesn't then you either didn't set up emuNAND or didn't boot into it, yet
if it says "GW" there, then you can update now, however DO NOT leave the settings, but update directly from within the settings! if you leave settings, you get send back to sysNAND, so you will have to boot into emuNAND first again
also, if you didn't set up an internet connection for your emuNAND yet, then set it up, leave settings, boot back into emunand, go to settings, check for "GW", update - reason for that, is that I heard, setting up the internet settings withing emuNAND can partially revert you back to sysNAND, so you set it up, intentionally leave back to sysNAND and then boot up emuNAND again, just to be 100% sure
also after updating emuNAND, your internet settings will be copied over to sysNAND, so make sure, you delete them again from sysNAND, so you don't accidentaly download any FW updates on sysNAND :-)
when you are on 9.0 emuNAND, you will have access to themes, you can use that to make it even easier to differentiate between sysNAND and emuNAND
also always make sure, you have a 4.x backup of your NAND, just in case anything goes haywire
