Resident Evil has had numerous Media Iterations over the years from Movie Adaptations, Books, and the enormous Game Franchise it's degenerated into today. The Movies have been hit or miss for most people, following the story of Alice, a bio weapon created by umbrella, and sprinkling in it's own little nods to the game franchise with characters like Chris and Claire Redfield, Jill Valentine, and the likes.
However now, the series is getting its own TV show sometime after the final movie comes out in the coming years.
CANNES — Leading German production house Constantin Film is stepping up its TV series business with TV series spin-offs of the “Mortal Instruments” and “Resident Evil” movies.
Constantin exec board chairman Martin Moszkowicz confirmed the news at a launch for another Constantin high-end TV series, “Shades of Guilt,” at Mipcom TV market in Cannes Sunday.
Constantin has been involved in TV production for many years, and half of its activities is in TV, Moszkowicz said, but the company’s strategic goal was to shift more toward television. “We are increasing our TV activities substantially both in Germany and internationally,” he said. Fiction series would be the focus of the growth, he added.
There is no word on what the show will be based on, and if it will take on a plot set by the video games, or if it will be another semi-original story based loosely on the lore.

If it's not an Albert Wesker talk show, I'm out.

Did that Stalker/Roadside picnic TV show ever get made?

Anyway I am with the others. As I sit here I can not think of a single non animated*/cartoon based on a computer game that was good. Might also have to add comics to that list; Mutant X I found to be amusing (though it kept nothing but the name) and Painkiller Jane was something of a guilty pleasure, after that though....

*the animated RE films I found to be at least half amusing.

Hopeful screen writer: Walking Dead, Z Nation... What does that tell you about zombie-based TV shows?
Studio Exec: That there are too many of them?
Hopeful Screen writer: Orrrrr... People like them, why not make more?

To be fair other than in anime there were not exactly many zombie shows before those. Not to mention, pending word on Z Nation's quality*, there is probably still room for there to be a good zombie show.

*seen as I have yet to hear anything about it and even the nonsense that walking dead became managed to gain enough fans to bore me of the concept does not make me hopeful for a good one.
