Announced at New York Comicon this weekend, NECA has unveiled the new prototype figure for the long requested protagonist of Capcom's Devil May Cry series, Dante.
The figure is rumored to have over 30 points of Articulation, will measure at 7 Inches in height, and include accessories such as his famous Blade The Rebellion, and 2 additional Gun accessories. The figure does not have a speculated price point yet, but judging from previous Video Game figure releases from NECA, he will most likely retail anywhere from $21.99 - $29.99.

This is wonderful news for fans of the DMC series, as most Dante Figures have been produced by Play Arts Kai, which while offering them in really high quality, have really high price points!
NECA does a fantastic job with their sculpts, so this will be an awesome figure to look out for in early 2015 this year.

Why is this frontpage? lol

Believe it or not, acquiring licences to create these kinds of Figures is a difficult task. Gaming figures that aren't mega popular franchises are even harder to get permission to make, and often times are only made by niche company's that sell them for upwards of 80-90 bucks. Hence why the news is kind of big for a franchise like DMC to finally be getting some love from NECA after they've been wanting to make one and been in talks to make one for over 4 years.

Just because the news doesn't pertain to a game itself, doesn't mean it isn't newsworthy.

Is that supposed to be Dante in his 70's?

I was thrown off by the facial sculpt too, but this was just a display and hasn't gone through final revision, so if enough fans point it out they can always fix it. A similar situation happened earlier this year when NECA revealed THIS as their 1984 Godzilla sculpt. The outcry to change the ridiculous head sculpt was so large they fixed it in 2 weeks and made a proper sculpt HERE.
