I recently purchased a japanese 3ds with 4.4.0 firmware, gateway 2.1, 18 3ds roms etc.

I only purchased for the sake of playing the new monster hunter 4g online when it comes out, really not interesting in solo play.

My question is, ive tried booting in gateway mode, opened up some of the existing games etc.

When MH 4g comes out tonight on the japanese eshop, ill have to update to download it.

Is there any problem with me updating my sysNand to the latest firmware (yes I know I wont be able to use gateway any longer), i.e I dont want this 3ds to become bricked or anything.

Thanks for any help.

There wouldn't be any issue, but why not wait a week or so until a Gateway update comes out? Is it really worth throwing 80 bucks away for a game you'll be playing very soon?

ah with a little reading , it does seem that is the better solution. Im assuming the dumped gamecart will be on the 3ds' sd card, which I have to read through my PC?

Thank you for the offer kind sir, but I think I kind of understand it.

Haha ; guess ill have to wait for gateway to update their firmware to 9.0 then :)

The online headers are very simple to inject... If you decide to make your own though then when it becomes more tough
