yeah there's a tool called "Gateway rom sorter" I think. It lets you change the order the games show up in.
Gateway rom sorter doesn't work with 3dz roms.
Anoter simple method :
Crate a folder on your micro-sd card, put all the roms in it, then move them back to the root in the order you want.
A feature not everyone knows about: you can scroll through faster using the shoulder buttons. Just a FYI.I have smash all the way at the end. Any way to move the game icons so I don't have to scroll through X games to get to the one I want? Minor issue but just curious.

Thx for the tip.
By "put" you mean actually "move", right?
Like in move all of the roms to that folder and move back 1 by 1 in the order I'd like them to appear.
You can use any general FAT Sorter program to alphabetically sort the roms. That way also the .3dz are sorted.
AFAIK it just writes the table of the drive. The sorting lasts like 3 sec. on my 64GB card. I doubt it manages rewrite everything so quick. For what i know the FAT Sorter will rewrite the whole micro SD card.
That would be a problem if each game that is getting sorted by the Fat Sorter is counted as 1 Write to the micro SD card. (micro SD card has 10.000 to 100.000 write/read life cycle?!?).
For example:
- 128gb micro SD card with
- 80 games
Sorting this card will reduce 80 write/read cycle from that card.
