I know this is going to sound stupid, and I'm not even sure if this is the right place to post...

Basically, I plan to record a video of me taking something apart. (My 3DS, to be exact.)
The only good camera I have to record with is my iPod Touch. And it doesn't have a stand so...
What would be the best way to position/hold an iPod to record a video with a "Top-Down" viewing angle? (That is, the view is looking straight down.)
I need to be able to use both my hands, so obviously, I can't hold it.

I did try once using a stack of books, and then placing a CD jewel case in between, and then placing the iPod on the clear side of the case, but it got cumbersome; Not enough room to move my hands around.
Any other ideas?

I would suggest getting a tripod, but then again, I might as well suggest getting an actual camera while at it. As far as household hack solutions are concerned, you can attach the iPod to a desk lamp - not only will it provide proper lighting, it will also stabilize the iPod.

A desk lamp? Hm... That could work. It would also provide some extra light, too. The only thing is figuring out how to hold it down to the lamp... *Pulls out roll of duct tape.*

Tape is the obvious answer, but if you don't want to stain your iPod, you can use rubber bands instead or wrap the phone in paper first and create a "paper sleeve" for it. There's also string, but attaching it that way could be pretty loose and wobbly. Now, be sure not to attach it to a part of the lamp that gets hot - you don't want it to melt. ;)

Heh, I figured it'd melt. I'll mess around with those setups until I find one that works best. Thanks for the help! :)
