yeah, mt-card and gateway are the only cards with regular updates, high compitablitie, and they both have thier own special options... orange, 3dslink (mine) and r4i gold 3ds deluxe are all 3 the same, you can exchange the firmwares of those cards, but it will only show different name in the background when started.
gateway work on a better cheat database. a lot of guys have problems with the mt card cheat database. (the 3ds freeze every time when you try it by the most people)
Maybe when the MT team manages to crack the OMEGA 2.3b launcher, then R4i may be able to start copying GW's code to let you play Smash on their card. Expect this somewhere in the next year.
just get the gateway at yeahgeek ( wonder if there will be any other cheap option when they run out ) and resell to some other dumb person the clone like i'm going to do..For this price tag clones are not worth anymore. They are already behind on nand saving games and it's possible that they won't get them working due to non upgradeable fpga. While clones are working on copying gateway updates , gateway is working on the next firmware
The team has to do their own work unlike the clones who only know how to copy poorly

Maybe he means that they copied Powersaves? At least it is essentially the same functionality.

The MT edit metod is very poor , the GW team never would release something so mediocre. Probably they copy anybody else. I´m sorry you have to defend that shitty card
i could actually believe it was copied, on the grounds that their teaser video before they released it said GW3D in the corner of the screen on this "independently developed" firmware, and gateway has been saying
"We have our own upcoming 'Cheats' solution coming. It will be a proper,
efficient and professional solution. Safe and more advanced than gimmicks based
on cloned/stolen code.
Please be a little more patient, you will be delighted by what we will offer. As
you know, no one beats the original"
now that could of course just be trying to insinuate something that isnt true, but that combined with the GW3D that was shown in the MT video.....i could imagine MT have themselves a insider that leaks/sells them unreleased GW code to make some extra cash for himself....this kind of thing happens in even the biggest software companies, so i doubt a dodgy flashcard company would be totally secure against individual greed.....the fact its so buggy and unfinished would suggest it was a piece of alpha code
but again if you cant prove it you cant prove it, but i wouldn't get jealous of a handful of buggy save mods with no way of people making their own code.......why exactly would you encrypt the database, surely having it open for people to play with would let the people do your own work for you, there would be plenty of cheats by now if it was not encrypted i would imagine, very counter productive feature

I can't wait till next year the possibility of NN3DS/XL decapping & confirmation that all existing 3DS flash work either this year or next year

To be honest, just like you stated, gateway 3ds is getting cheaper and the one sold buy yeahgeek is near if not cheaper than most clones on the market (i'm guessing due to tax and shipping). Gateway is the original and the best

Gateway thought the had no competitor(they still don't) and so inflated the price of their product to get more money. The clone company used the term "R4" is now synonymous to flash cart do to the popularity of the various ones on the DS. Look at it this way, when someone wants a 3DS flashcart, they would Google R4 3ds first. If Gateway actually used the term R4 then I bet you they would make a hell of a lot more money and have no competing products.

The only 2 things that drived me of gateway was : 1.Price , 2. Possibility of the cart getting outdated and having to buy a new one. Price has gone down a lot yet and the second one has fallen itself since they are doing fast progress and clones can't keep up. I'm still REALLY sceptical since it seems brick code is still there and they haven't admitted it was their fault ¬¬ , but w/e
Just hoping I don't have any problem with my saves, no one has confirmed to me yet that they work no problem ( very paranoic since 4.0b2 was deleting my saves randomly , hope there aren't any problems when switching to gateway) , gw Bravely default save worked tho.
