Hacking Newbie Here, I have some questions r4 flash cards...

I just pre ordered a 3ds from my local shops. The brand new super smash bros 3ds xl console.

I also bought a 64gb mini sd card and i'm looking to buy a an r4 flash card.

1.would i have to downgrade the lastest firmware to 4.1-4.5 to play 3ds roms?
(sorry newb here, im just wondering or because all the websites i seen havent updated their info since 2013...)

2.im assuming when i get my super smash bro's console it will be v8.1.xx ill assume, would that mean i can't play 3ds roms?

3. would this 64gb mini sd card even work? i wasnt thinking too much i just went for the largest size, most of the sites i see are doing 32gbs only.. lol

4. what r4 flash card do you recomend?

You can't play 3DS roms on your 3DS XL. There is no way to downgrade the firmware.

you should get a 32gb card, most flashcarts only support sdhc (fat32)

the best card for DS roms and emulation of old games is DSTWO, it only supports SDHC (cards up to 32 gb)

you can also get a r4 but i dont recomend you to..

so i will be able to get a flash cart for ds games that would work on 8.1.0-19 assuming thats what will be on the factory release on the 3ds xl im purchasing? on the online shops im browsing alot of them say its compatible with 8.1.0-19

this is my first 3ds, i've modded psp and ps3 before, but it seems like r4 chips, from what i see its easier just plug and play and update the firmware when theres an update.

the DSTWO works with any version so far, and its probably will not be blocked

the factory version of the console doesn't matter, only the version at the moment (this is not like ps3)

and yes, basically is plug and play

steps you need the first time is:
copy stuff into sd card (some menu files and update) at same time you can copy your games
on the 3ds menu launch the game at same time hold R button to update the card
select the game on menu and play

then after that: launch the card, select the game and play

if you boot the card and says "an error as ocurred" black screen, come back here we will teach you to solve that (this happens when a card does have an old version and the console blocks it, but easily solved)

i am not sure if SDXC works if formatted to fat32, but maybe not...

well, there is no worry or modifications to the 3ds using a DS MODE card like dstwo, nothing is installed on the console the update is made in the card itself...

but a ds lite is a very good console to get

oh cool~ I made a purchase for the dstwo, should be here in a week or so.

ill just do some trial and error for the 64gb+ sd cards( its would be easier to just have one card to rule them all and put almost every game on there so)

looking forward to any late 2014 firmware updates for the new flashcards for the 3ds xl that might come up.

Hi everyone its me again, i made a purchase for the dstwo card not too long ago, from a website listed on shoptemp... i assumed all these websites have been approved by shoptemp themselves... it has the most positive reviews so i decided to go with them http://prntscr.com/4q3hf1

but i am questioning their service, as i havent recieved my item, and they gave me a bad tracking id, and they havent replyed to my comments. Their contact us button is broken as well.... i've also given them credit card info, have i been scammed? I usually prefer using paypal with buying online... its been about 3 weeks...
