Might as well get both, save for a WiiU now, save for the "new" 3DS later and get it after launch

Well then neither. Save your money. If you have to get one then the longer you wait the cheaper the system and games. Do you need to get a particular game on launch for some reason?
e: Alternate answer, get a Turbo Grafix 16
well i loved xenoblade chronicles on wii and id love to play it on 3ds but i also wanted to play smash on wii u with its gamecube functionalities

(gamecube is my favourite console of all time:lol:)

We have to work on your tastes a bit. Stick around, eventually we'll show you where to look for greatness. B-)

That's the kind of attitude why fanboys (such as yourself) are assholes.
Thank you! I love being called a fanboy, considering that I collect consoles indiscriminately and I'm a long-term Nintendo fan. It's all a matter of taste.

Some people have it, others don't. ;O;
No reason to hate gamecube, Melee, Windwaker, Sunshine. Its just PS2 had so many great games its sometimes overlooked.
Myeh. I bought a Gamecube practically at launch and while it did have a couple good games, its library was nothing compared to the PS2. Mind you, Wind Waker is not one of said "good games". ;)

Regardless if you collect consoles you're still a fanboy as you praise one over the other.

AVGN and Pat the NES Punk collect tons of consoles and games and they're still fanboys, you're no different.

That's not how fanboyism works. A fanboy praises systems made by his/her prefered company indiscriminately, regardless of whether they're actually good or not. I praise good implementations of technology and criticize poor ones, I have no allegiances whatsoever.

I liked the Gamecube's firepower and it has one of the best controllers of all time, but I can still see many of its flaws that truly hindered the device from reaching the heights it deserved. If only it had proper DVD support, broadband out of the box and multimedia support, it could've been way more successful than it was.

What about that new Xenosomething on the Wii U?

Wait and see if there's a bundle of something you want, I dunno.

Currently the Wii U doesn't have a whole lot to offer, so I'd wait for the high-tier exclusives to come out first - games like Smash and *chokes a bit* Xenoblade Yawnicles 2/X. That, and it will probably be cheaper around the holiday season anyways. As for the N3DS, so far we don't know if it will be a meaningful upgrade, so there's no reason to pounce it unless you're a collector. I'm getting it just because I like dual analog support and the CPP attachment doesn't get nearly enough software support as I'd like it to get.
