Hi,

I've bought an used Game Boy Advance SP and when I tried to play an Game Boy/Game Boy Color game on it (Pokemon Red) I saw an darker area on top of the squared area of the image. It seems like some sort of shadow. My guess is that the cause of that might be the front light 'glass' that reflects the image. If i point a very strong light into it, it seems to disappear, and it is more noticiable in darker places.
Can someone with a similar unit confirm that this 'issue' is normal?
There follows two small pictures:

Thanks in advance.

No, this is a original AGS-001 with its original display and case.
Another user from another forum answered that his have the same 'line', so it seems normal when playing GB/GBC games. I would like however to another user to confirm :)

I can confirm that. I tried Pokemon Red on my AGS-001 and I get that dark area too.

I pulled out my original GBA SP 001 and copy of Pokemon Red. Not sure why but in the picture, it does look a little different but when viewed on the actual console, I can't notice the dark line at all.

Actually I might be able to notice the 'bar' on your image, if you look closely there is a lighter black line. If you enter the game you might notice a 'reflection bar' in that position.

Yep, it isn't quite easy to capture it.
However, I guess that this issue might only appear on AGS-001 due to ther existence of a piece of glass between the display itself and the outsite plastic/glass:

I guess this piece of glass its made to expand the full light spectrum until the top of the screenwithout noticeable dimming.
