So basically i would like to get more information on how Wii U will handle vWii at 480p with no scaling, compared to Wii.

As Wii U will always Scale as far as i know, you need to set it to 480p to prevent this. But there may still be some "filtering" going on as Wii U is able to manipulate the output, and this is something i would like to know about.

So if possible, can people who have Wii U take some screenshots along with some Wii at the same exact place, so they could be compared?

To do this you need a Capture card with HDMI and Component, a photo of the display would be meaningless.

I myself has a Wii and a Capture card, so i can take shots from it if needed, but i have no Wii U.

(Of course Component vs HDMI is a thing on it's own, but generally they should look very similar, except for some noise).

Wii games look absolutely fine on the Wii U. I haven't done any comparisons, but owning both the Wii and a Wii U, I can safely say if you can complain you're just a whiney bitch.

Fine is one thing, identical another;P

I am quite obsessed with that matter. So even though i can see it and think (Oh it looks the same), i want to make sure it really does.
So "whiney bitch" would probably refer to me in this case, yes;)

Well here are 3 pictures from my Wii.
This was captured with Component, i have adjusted the Brightness and Contrast on the Card to make it look as original as possible without clipping any real details.

The images have also been cropped and scaled to 640x480 to make it look fairly similar to what it would look like with Square Pixels.

That's gamecube game, it's impossible to test with vWii without modding and homebrew.
Why not save the trouble and just use Wii? I still do as TVs upscaling is much better and doesn't soften image as much as vWii does.

Oh, didn't actually think about that sorry;P

Well Analogue vs Digital, Component vs HDMI.

As long as it's not messing around (ignoring the upscaling as i would play at 480p), it can clearly be worth it.
Especially if you record your games like me. (Noise, the enemy of compression;P).

Btw, is it possible to print screen on the Wii (modded)?

I believe you can do that if you own a USB Gecko.

Hmm okay, don't have one so will pass on that, thought it would be a good way to compare what it's supposed to look like and what it looks like in the output.

Well hombrew apps are a choice i have.
Nice picture there, should bypass the Output noise as it's pure rendered.

Here are 2 images from SSBB, both altered to 16:9 and a bit polished in Black/White levels.

Well you are right that digital is always better than analog, but with quality cables noise shouldn't be that big issue and you aren't recording in any HD resolution either.

I do have capture card, but not any physical Wii games right now to test with Wii U nor interest in setting up my Wii. I also have some cheap chinese component cable as because all official and quality cables were RGB Scart ones for some reason which only gives interlaced image.
I see what I can do when I have extra time to spare and nothing else to do.

Mario92, nothing more i can ask for, do what you can when you can;)

JoostinOnline, well all in all it depends on usage.

If you simply want to transfer something, (Image,Audio) which should later be decoded.
Digital always win, as it's lossless, what you send is what you get.

But well Audio for that matter needs to be Analogue in the end, but you want that to only be between the SoundCard and Playback Device, if you have it anywhere else you will only add noise for no reason.

Also, i actually use third party super cheap component.
But i can't really see any problems.

Do you find my images faulty;S?

I'm talking about things beyond recording. When talking about media (CD's and records) ou'll find a lot of people who feel analogue audio is better than digital. If you're talking about buttons on a controller, analogue is always better.

I just didn't want people to read that post and interpret it to apply towards every situation.

Also, i actually use third party super cheap component.
But i can't really see any problems.
Like I said, they are almost always faulty.

Ah, you mean like Vinyl vs CD's etc?

Well that's a concept on it's own. I would just say people who like Vinyl more than it's identical digital copy, like that inaccuracy it has.
But not going to start a debate about that, but it's as you say, the word Analogue and Digital should not be confused here as they are used in more than one aspect.

Like I said, they are almost always faulty.

I know, but i wanted to know if you think my Images look faulty, wrong, incorrect;P

Can't anyone that has Wii U and a capture card please capture and upload some shots (lossless, YUY2->RGB etc)?

Also, is vWii able to output other resolutions (Homebrew)?
Namely 640x480?

As if HDMI is possible, square pixels are as well, and that would be preferred for the end user.
