Hi,

I use Hombrew Channel with USBLOADER GX 3.0 (installed on my SD card with Pack Hack WII), 1 SD Card to boot, and an USB Disk for games storing. This since a week ago.
Later i've installed Priiloader0_8_beta4.

Since i've USB, everyday i put new games for my children with WiiBackupManager, and all is working well.
All works perfectly with my personals configuration options especialy direct boot to USBLOADERGX (no more wasted time to acces the games). So what a pleasure !
But yesterday i tried to get the folders images to acces the initials Wii Channels (not the games) via usbloader GX like before with the Wii menu.

I put the covers on my SD card, and i tested if it worked via usbloader. Some worked ok but i don't remember what channel gives me a black screen (it was late at night) and just before another says me "no networking work " or something like that. At this moment wiimote could not shutdown the Wii.

So I push the shutdown button from the front cover to put it off, push again tu put it on and then the wii boot on usbloader GX but ... the problem begins. The wiimote doesn't work : it blimp but no arrow on the screen. I do it again : same thing.

OK. So i boot on priloader (push power + reset button), the menu appears, but same thing the wiimote (+, -, arrow) blimp but doesn't work (+, -, arrow).

I've tried all the support solutions (re synchronize the wiimote , plug out / in all the cables, waiting, etc...)
The result is Wiimote is unable to work. What a pity for my childrens, i was so fair ...

How could i do to repair this problem ?
I must precise some things :
1 - i can ping my Wii,so it seems the wi-fi is OK.
2 - The DVD drive doesn't work anymore. It's the reason i hack my Wii for USB use.
3 - I can't anymorre turn on/off my Wii with the wiimote.
4 - I use the original wiimote not the motion plus adapter

It can be the bluetooth module which is broken, but how can i be sure to avoid disassembling the Wii ?

Any response for anyone will be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a gamecube controller? (to exit USBLoaderGX to system menu if you are auto-booting to the loader).
is the wiimote synching correctly in the official Wii system menu?
Do you have to re-synch using the red button? (I think the red button doesn't work in USBLoaderGX)

the issue is only in USBLoaderGX or in other homebrew too?
which version of the loader do you have? (latest revision is 1231 located in my signature, or 1226 downloaded inside the loader's update menu)
The version number is written in the Settings>Credit page

The wiimote desynch is usually a cIOS issue.
You didn't touch cIOS recently?

I didn't understand that :
" i tried to get the folders images to acces the initials Wii Channels via usbloader GX like before with the Wii menu."
Maybe tell it in french?

If you want the game covers, you don't need to put the SD card on PC to copy files manually.
The loader can download the covers for Wii and banner animation for gamecube directly from internet (if you have the wifi connection working).
Press 1 on the wiimote (or 2 if 1 is not working)

Hi, my responses in Bold :

Do you have a gamecube controller? (to exit USBLoaderGX to system menu if you are auto-booting to the loader). NO
is the wiimote synching correctly in the official Wii system menu? I can't access the offical Wii system menu. The wii boot only with Usbloader GX
Do you have to re-synch using the red button? (I think the red button doesn't work in USBLoaderGX) YES

the issue is only in USBLoaderGX or in other homebrew too? same response : The wii boot only on Usbloader GX even if the SD card is out.
which version of the loader do you have? (latest revision is 1231 located in my signature, or 1226 downloaded inside the loader's update menu)
the version number is written in the Settings>Credit page : I can't access settings because the wiimote doesn't work. (see above)

I didn't understand that :
" i tried to get the folders images to acces the initials Wii Channels via usbloader GX like before with the Wii menu."

If you want the game covers, you don't need to put the SD card on PC to copy files manually. .
The loader can download the covers for Wii and banner animation for gamecube directly from internet (if you have the wifi connection working). OK i'll do it next time when my wiimote will run again
Press 1 on the wiimote (or 2 if 1 is not working)

Thanks.

Depending on the way you installed the loader it will be easier or harder

USBLoaderGX is on located on USB, installed on your Wii as a channel, or installed as a .dol in priiloader?
In priiloader you should install only the forwarder dol, not the loader dol (I hope you followed a good guide which told you the correct way to autoboot the loader when power on)

- If it's on USB, disconnect both SD and USB and power on the console, it should boot to system menu. there you can synch the wiimote again with the red button.
- If it's installed on Channel or in priiloader you can't go back to system menu without a working controller.

Maybe someone else will have more idea or know priiloader better than me to help you boot the system menu without a wiimote. a way to bypass autoboot installed dol would be great.

However thanks for your responses. (My daughter is very disappointed !)

if it runs USBLoaderGX (you see the countdown? it doesn't stop at the logo?) even without the SD and USB connected, then that means that the loader is not run from SD. It's installed on your Wii.
It's the wrong way to install the loader with priiloader. If you followed a guide to install the loader in priiloader then it wasn't a good advice.
The correct way would be : install a forwarder on Wii. Install the forwarder.dol in priiloader, place boot.dol on SD.
If you had it this way, you could boot any homebrew at launch by replacing the boot.dol on the SD (for example a homebrew to load system menu, or a homebrew to synch wiimotes, etc.).

To know if you have bootmii installed as Boot2, when power ON the console without SD card inserted, the wii flashes two times quickly.
If you have bootmii installed at boot2 you can restore a backup of your Wii (if you made one), or force the wii to boot the homebrew channel instead of priiloader. I think while in HBC you can synch wiimotes with red buttons.

Or try to borrow a gamecube controller from a friend/family. It will work in priiloader and in USBloaderGX to exit to system menu.

Edit:
just for information, USBLoaderGX doesn't touch the Wiimote synchronization. trying to load a channel is not what deleting the synch data.

Just tested, you can sync wiimotes in HBC vía red buttons.

But well, the fast solution is to get a Gamecube Controller and use it to go back to System Menú and resync the wiimotes.

Hi!
One question, do you have bootmii installed? Maybe doing the button combo you can access the System Menú

yes i've bootmii in the root of my SD :
here's the .ini config :
# BootMii config file
# Video mode, possible settings:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=PAL50
# Autoboot, possible settings:
# SYSMENU, HBC
#AUTOBOOT=SYSMENU
# Autoboot delay, in seconds:
# Default is 5
#BOOTDELAY=5

but how can i boot on it ?
I don't understand " Maybe doing the button combo you can access the System"

It's useful only if it's installed on boot2.

You have two method to install bootmii :
- installed before the system menu when you Power on the wii (it's called "installed at boot 2")
- installed as IOS only and you can launch it from HBC only.

If you have the boot2 version, the drive's light flash very quickly when you power on your Wii without a SD card inserted (or with the SD card but without the bootmii folder).
If it doesn't flash when you power on your Wii, then you can't use it to bypass the launch of USBLoaderGX.

if you have it installed on boot2, this is what to do to autoboot HBC instead of priiloader:
# NTSC, PAL50, PAL60, PROGRESSIVE
VIDEO=PAL50 (you are using 576i? not 480p? if you are using 480p set PROGRESSIVE instead)
AUTOBOOT=HBC
BOOTDELAY=0

then put the SD card in the console and power on.

OK i think i don't have boot2 because i never choose it during my install.
in my case where i can do nothing from my wii is there a mean to modify the boot configuration, for example modify parmaters on my SD Card via my PC ?

if you had bootmii installed at boot2 yes.
that's the only way to change the boot configuration with a PC.

currently your wii is running priiloader first.
Priiloader is autobooting a version of USBLoaderGX program installed into the Wii.

So your choices are limited.
1. You can stop in priiloader by pressing reset, but wiimote is not synch (I think you said you tried to synch it in priiloader, right?)
2. You let priiloader start and autoboot the loader, and you are stuck with no wiimote too.

if you had the loader installed on SD, I could have made a version for you, but it seems the loader is installed on your Wii, so your only choice is to find a Gamecube controller to exit the loader.

I will already explain what to do to fix your issue when you can find a GC Controller, so you can test when you can:
1) resynch the wiimote
- run USBLoaderGX
- press Home button and exit to HBC or System menu.
- Re-synch the wiimote with the red button... hopefully it will work.
If synch doesn't work on system menu, then your Bluetooth module or your wiimote are probably the cause.

2) Prevent priiloader to restart the loader
- Go to priiloader settings, tell it to autoboot system menu for the moment.

3) replace Priiloader's installed auto-boot program
- Download "all in one package for 249" on USBLoaderGX page.
- Extract the file "forwarder.dol" located in /wad/forwarder/ folder, and put it on your SD.
- go to priiloader, select to install an application and pick the forwarder.dol to replace the Loader's boot.dol already installed.

Priiloader will now stop autobooting the loader installed on the Wii.
Instead it will autoboot the forwarder. The forwarder will boot the loader located on SD or USB, in apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol
It's easier to update, and it's not stuck infinitely if wiimote ever un-synch again. You just replace the boot.dol to something else.

4) install a Forwarder channel on your System menu
- Open Again the "all in one package for 249"
- Extract the file "forwarder_v5.1 (UNEO).wad." located in /wad/ folder, and put it on your /wad/ folder on SD Card.
- Use a Wad manager to install this wad on your Wii.

This channel will appear on your system menu, and is used to launch the boot.dol located on SD card.
It is also used to return to USBLoaderGX (if you didn't set priiloader to do it) when exiting a game.

5) Check if USBLoaderGX de-synch the Wiimote
- run USBLoaderGX from HBC or from the forwarder.

- If wiimote de-synch again, the issue is probably the cIOS.
- reboot the console to system menu, resynch wiimote, go to HBC
- Run d2x cIOS installer, and reinstall slot 249 and slot250

6) Set priiloader to load USBLoaderGX at boot again
- run priiloader, go to settings, and tell it to autoboot installed application. (the forwarder.dol)

The correct way would be : install a forwarder on Wii. Install the forwarder.dol in priiloader, place boot.dol (the priiloader boot.dol ?)on SD.

I dnon't understand what to do exactly. At this time i've
GX_ForwarderV4.dol as only dol on my SD root.
and priiloader in the app subfolder with its boot.dol in it.

If you had it this way, you could boot any homebrew at launch by replacing the boot.dol on the SD (for example a homebrew to load system menu, or a homebrew to synch wiimotes, etc.).

ok but it'll be for the next time

No just one flash and the screen USBLOADER GX frozen.

you don't need the priiloader folder or boot.dol on your SD card anymore.
Priiloader is installed on your Wii (it replaces the system menu).

when I said "boot.dol" I talked about the USBLoaderGX's boot.dol.
the forwarder_v4.dol is not used, and outdated (v5.1 is available)

On Wii :
USBLoaderGX Forwarder channel installed on system menu
priiloader installed
Forwarder dol installed in priiloader
priiloader set to autoboot the installed dol

on SD :
USBLoaderGX boot.dol located in apps/usbloader_gx/ folder

Correct boot sequence:
Boot > Priiloader > installed program in priiloader (the forwarder.dol) > Launch forwarder channel v5.1 installed on system menu > Launch USBLoaderGX Boot.dol located on SD.

incorrect boot sequence (you currently have):
boot > priiloader > installed program in priiloader (the USBLoaderGX Boot.dol)

And don't find forwarder dol v5.1
Just a precision : on my root SD card i've a boot.elf, is it normal ?

it was probably the Hackmii installer (the program you used to install the homebrew channel)
It's not used anymore.

You don't need the forwarder dol on your SD card.
The forwarder dol you need to use (to install into priiloader) is located in the "all in one" package linked in the guide I wrote above, in the wad/forwarder/ folder
the forwarder_v5.1 is located in the /wad/ folder (it's a wad file to install on your Wii, not to keep on SD).

Having these files on your SD makes no harm, it's just never used.

You're right i've already the forwarder in the /wad foler.

Conclusion : i do find a GC controller otherwise no way to re enable my wiimote.

However thanks for your availability. I'll post my results after, hope it'll work, it's too bad for my daughter..

Hi Cyan,

I've finally found a GC to re-synchronize the wiimote and now it's ok. But not quite :

First i re-installed bootmii on boot2 as it's recommended : no problem.

But now i can't anymore access to the preloader menu when i push the power/reset buttons, the wii always start the HBC.

So i can't configure the priiloader as you said on your previous post thursday at 10:48.

Otherwise, now, for any game i try to start with usloaderGX, none of them works, they start but after i have a black screen or a strange behavior and often, the wiimote needs resynchronization.
