Hardware Official SNES To Wii Adapter Available?

Hey Guys,

Is there an official adapter for being able to use an original SNES controller on the Wii? I know there is the Mayflash Adapter here:

But it looks like it got bad reviews, and doesn't appear to be working that well (if anyone has one feel free to chime in!). I was at my parent's house, and found some original SNES controllers from my old SNES back in the day.....and wanted to use them on my Wii if possible.

I guess worse case scenario, I'll get a USB adapter, and I'll be able to use them on my PC at least.

Also, does anyone have any first hand experience with the Mayflash controller with emulators / Homebrew games?

I use Raphnet-tech for a lot of my adapters. Raphael is a very smart man indeed, with adapters for almost anything. This Snes to wiimote one is great, he also does a USB to snes and a usb to wiimote extension, but I don't know if they work; they simulate a Hid, so they should work okay. Recommend him, his stuff is so good and he doesn't get a lot of customers as of late.

Ah, I don't have any pictures, but they look pretty much exactly the same as on the site. A wiimote extension on one end, a circuit in the middle with heatshrink and a snes extension on the other side. It's quite secure and it isn't even slightly bulky. He doesn't need to use a massive box because he makes such small chips. You can order just the circuit and convert a whole controller if you're handy with a soldering iron.

"Mayflash Snes/Nes to Wii adapter" works really good, it has very little lag (less than 2 ms latency contrary to 3 ms from raphnet extenmote). When using with virtual console Snes games it runs even better than an emulator (snes9x gx or snes9x next), it feels more accurate and responsive.
I have two adapters and occasionally I play with a snes pad on my android device (retroarch) and I must say it works great.

If you can plug it into the wiimote, it'll normally work fine. It's usb devices that tend to be a bit troublesome for the wii.

Can you provide some closeup pictures as well? How long have you been using the mayflash adapter?

Also, are you saying that the adapter does NOT work very well with emulators? Because that's what I'll primarily be using my SNES controller for....I do not have any VC SNES games...only SNES9X GX Emulator + Roms.

No, the adapter works excellent with emulators, what I said is that virtual console games are even more accurate and responsive with classic controllers and snes controllers with this adapter, but it's only by a little margin. The first version of the adapter came without a cable, a 7 to 9 pin converter. The newest version it's packaged with that cable, that's only for NES controllers.

Thanks for the reply, I saw that controller earlier as well on Amazon. The reviews (and youtube videos) I've seen for that specific controller are all very very poor, and everyone recommends to not waste your money on that specific brand.

I think that with that specific one, it's definitely not something ANYONE should buy for their Wii system to play SNES games.

Ok glad you didn't waste your money then, I only posted that as I've got an official Wii Snes controller and I know how expensive they can be.

Same here, that's why I'm looking at these 3rd party adapters. A 3rd party adapter at $15-20 dollars, using my original SNES controller on the wii, is still much cheaper than the official one you bought:

Is the quality of these 3rd Party SNES controllers the same as the quality of the Original SNES controller?

I remember the SNES D-Pad as being the best I have tried. Although blisters would come out still after many hours of playing Street Fighter II Turbo.

However for the Wii. I rather use the Wii Classic Controller Pro over any other controller for Emulators or Wiiware games
