To the best of my knowledge there are no emulator only patches for the GBA like you sometimes see for the NES or SNES (certain liberties the emulators might have taken can get used by some, usually earlier in history, hackers that rendered them emulator only) or like the N64 emulator level texture replacement stuff.
The only emulator only homebrew is typically when something is made that does not quite conform to GBA standards, this is rare as well.

It runs on M3? I remember getting up to one part and then it froze. I believe it kept freezing at that part too. I can't remember exactly. The ROM is above 32MB.

they were really careful when making the patch so that it stayed at 32MB and would run on actual hardware. http://mother3.fobby.net/

yeah, the k1 uses a system on a chip approach. so its running in hardware but not a hardware clone of the original gba. as far as i've read the other "gba clones" are emulation based.

Patched GBA roms also work well on the Supercard Mini-SD. I've got Mother 3, Oriental Blue and a couple others.
but supercard slot-2 flashcarts r shit for gba for the fact of the slowdowns in game

Maybe for a select few GBa roms, but for what it offers, GBA, GB, GBC, NES, Master System and Turbografx-16 support and outside those few problem roms, well worth the $20. 3-)

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better. -

I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
