Hey guys, I bought a wii u who runs on ios 58 (HBC 1.1.2 IOS58). So here is my problem, I have bought a couple of microphones (we sing) and after snooping around due they it wont work out of the box it is my understanding that I need to run from ios 57.

How do I re-install HBC ?

If there are any missing info for this question just let me know.

Use Smash Stack's exploit to launch Hackmii and from there you can reinstall HBC.

Stop,Delay that suggestion.
1st thing you do is read if you do not want to read at least make a NAND backup with DumpMiiNand.
Never delete an vWii IOS. If you have to delete HBC before reinstalling it, then:
Do NOT delete HBC(you can read all the other posts about people who semi bricked/bricked their vWii to see why this is a bad idea.)

I already have used DumpMiiNand, this works even my wii u already is running HBC yes?

But just to clearify, I can not just to start on
6.) Launch d2x cIOS installer from the Homebrew Channel.

From: http://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-install-cios-on-vwii-backup-nand-and-keys.339890/

I will need to do the whole process all over again?

Hmmm, I have 125 titles all working exept 7-8 karaoke games. I might start to think this isnt really worth going through with if it is risky to get a semi bricked wii u. Not really sure why the previouse owner installed ios 58 instead of 57 wich is recomended though. But it seems like I have the choice of a fully working HBC running on ios 58 without beeing able to use karaoke games or take the risk and try re-install vWii IOS.

Did you buy your WiiU,NEW or used?
Did you install HBC for the first time? Or did someone else?
Did you backup your NAND immediately AFTER you installed HBC? without doing ANYTHING else?

Just saw your double post(try to edit the last post if no one has posted in between).

IF you did not make a recent NAND backup with DumpMiiNand do so NOW.

I bought it used, previouse owner installed HBC 1.1.2 wich is running IOS58. HBC channel works. I havent done anything else, the only thing the kids is using is usb loader and play games from the HD.
So I cannot answer a clear yes or no on the last part as I dont even know what the previouse owner has done. But I did backup as the first thing when I bought it.

Did you update the WiiU AFTER you used DumpMiiNand to back it up? If so, make a new backup.
Since, your WiiU/vWii is working.
Run the latest versions of almost all software

I did do a update to 5.0.0E but after reading up on HB I have blocked so it has not updated to 5.0.0U. I will take a new backup now and store the dump, but where do I safely go from here? I want the kids to be able to play the karaoke games. If its tricky/risky just say so and I will tell them to take music class in school instead lol

Edit: Just saw your updated post. Give me a minut and I will do the steps and report back :)

1st we find out what has been done to your WiiU/vWii
Then talk about plan.
THEN and ONLY then you execute plan.
This should create no problems.
Currently I am trying to see if you have any patched official vwii IOS installed and if the are current and correct?
you can NOT install ANY IOS's or CIOS's that are NOT vWii.
cios's should have vWii in name
Official Nintendo IOS's are trickier they MUST be unpatched and signed correctly.
You can tell if they are wii or vWii IOS's only by version numbers.

Can you edit the above post? I'm an unclear what you mean by this:
"I did do a update to 5.0.0E but after reading up on HB I have blocked so it has not updated to 5.0.0U"

inspectMII is giving me a dsi dissruption on the last screen (networ info on connection 3) so it did not make any log. But I have taken screendumps on all of the info, wich one is the one you need?

That does look like the normal SysCheck log. You could post log and edit out consoleID as it is not necessary.

You will have to ask/find out from @JoostinOnline why InspectMII acted that way.
You don't need to post InspectMII info but it should be kept safe in case there's a problem in the future you have something to go back to to compare with.

NEVER EVER mess with IOS512 or IOS513.

Little bit confused about the log, I did upload it and got a thumb up back but have no idea where I can find it? Is it on SD root or app folder? The one I posted here is from: IOSsyscheck.log

Edit: aha, now I understand :) I got it right. Well now that I got the backup (nand), both logs, where do I want togo from here? Is there any tread about this that solved my question about how to re-install/uninstall/install over IOS 58 or do I actually have to use smashstack as mention before?

Ok it looks like you have some cios's already installed(IOS236 and IOS257)

If you are following http://gbatemp.net/threads/simple-guide-to-install-cios-on-vwii-backup-nand-and-keys.339890/
And have all the tools from THAT thread,
And you read and UNDERSTAND "FAQ & Troubleshooting:" from THAT thread before you begin installing,
Then it should be safe to go ahead with instructions from THAT thread.

For the USB devices you want to make sure you install d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii
(that's d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii make sure you are clear on this).
Then, there should be no problems following the rest of the instructions from THAT thread.

After you have put your current NAND backup away safely somewhere and have backed up your SysCheck and InspectMii logs, take the time to backup your NAND ,again, before you start tweaking it with any other things. And again run SysCheck and InspectMii and save logs somewhere safe.

The above suggestions are provide you are not using EmuNAND.

Thank you so much for helping me out, sadly the game didnt recognize the usb mic after upgrading and loading with ios 57 as the http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Game_Compatibility_Table says. I bought a double pack containing We Sing two mic pack with a usb adapter from lioncast. I tried then from right port so I guess I have to keep digging.

Using this:
logitech-vantagetm-usb-microphone.4115468.jpg

USB\VID_046D&PID_0A03&REV_0101
VID is the the vendor code - PID is the product code (Logitech original)

LABEL SAYS:
M/N: A-0234A
DZL-A-0234A(B)

I have never had a single problem with this and USB Mics games - tested and working with both Wii and vWii with CFG Usb Loader and the mic connected to the lower USB rear port.
It DOES NOT WORK with front ports.

cIOS tested: davebaol d2x-v10-beta53-alt-vWii (used IOS57 as base).

Games behave differently depending on the loader used (some works great with one loader, some with another; in my experience best are CFG Usb Loader and Wiiflow but I never used USB Loader GX so much even on my real Wii) but compatibility should be very high. There are problems with wiiwares (installed on emulated and original nand) but I think they are the same Wii problems expecially with Virtual Console titles.
Have you seen this? maybe it will help

Any chance you could put hard drive on top and in middle of WiiU so USB power cord would extend to front port?

Close but still no cigar. Missing a longer extender, guess I have to pick one up monday and try again. Haha real annoying, I been trying to get these karaoke games to work for a month now.'

Edit: just my luck the hd wont even run on a short usb.

@BigOnYa I wanted to ask you about your experience with seeing south park. Most of the people a bit younger like my younger brother and cousins that are a few younger than me that saw kids found south park funny because of the curse words, kids at school, that seemed like liking the show on a very basic level.

I could not quite have a in depth discussion of the show.

How was it for you? As an adult. What did you find the most interesting part about it. Did you relate to the parents of the kids and their situations. Was it satires, the commentary on society. The references on celebrities' and pop culture.

I remember seeing the very first episode back in the day, and have watched every episode since. I used to set my VCR to record them even, shows how long ago.
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just like any comedies really, and cartoons have always been a favorite of mine. Family guy, American Dad, Futurama, Cleveland Show, Simpsons - I like them all.

South Park is great cause they always touch on relavent issues going on today, and make something funny out of it.

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa were you always up to date on the current events and issues of the time or were there issues that you first found out thru south park
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Most of the time yea I knew, I watch and read the news regularly, but sometimes the Hollywood BS stuff, like concerning actors slip by me. I don't follow most Hollywood BS (example: the Kardasians)

  • S @ salazarcosplay:
@BigOnYa there were relevant issues before south park was made, that's why i think a south park prequel/spinoff would be great. Randy and his friends in their child hood

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, like them running in high school together, getting into stuff, and how they got hitched and had kids. And how the town of South Park was back then compared to now. That would be cool to see.
  • BakerMan @ BakerMan:
    yeah
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
@salazarcosplay if they made a prequel, it would still be about current issues, cause it doesn't make sense to make it about stuff that happened 30 years ago that nobody cares about anymore
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
    it's too late
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
the older south park episodes about particular issues usually age poorly since the topic is no longer relevant
  • The Real Jdbye @ The Real Jdbye:
an exception is giant douche vs turd sandwich, that's always relevant :P
