do you even remember the last time you brought a game with _REAL_ joy or is it a case of buying a game to past some time now.

I read "exploded from joy" and then I saw it's a Flame thread.

...you sure you wanna talk about video games? :tpi:

In any case, it's been a long, long time since I was so hyped for a game that I cried into the heavens, but that's mostly because they're a more easily accessible commodity for me now. When I was a kid, I knew that I can get one game every now and then, so it had to be a good game alright... hence all the gaming magazines, listening to recommendations, hours of browsing etc. These were different times. :P

The last time I exploded from joy was when I got/played No more heroes 2, Red steel 2, and Spiderman Shattered dimensions on the Wii which was like two years ago. I honestly have to say when I think again about the most fun game I ever played I have to give it to the Nintendo overall. In addition I thought I was a Sony fan at heart, but now I feel like I have betrayed them...

That would be basically never, however I have been mostly joyless since I attained consciousness.

I usually go with the "is it 3am and you have things to do tomorrow?" metric. This happens far more often. Actually missing work/school/life.... well I do not do options 1 and 3, technically I might have done 2 at one point but there my policy was bare minimum to comfortably skate by unnoticed. That said I found morrowind a year or so before obliviion hit and fell short on the 2 bit.

Never.

oh, this is a gaming thread and not about real life. Let me think, nope, still never "exploded from joy" even playing video games, but I did have some good times with the NES, Genesis, playstation, and my atari 800xl.

I remember Persona 4 Golden being the only reason I wanted a Vita so I guess I "exploded from joy" once I was finally able to afford a Vita, a memory card, and a copy of the game.

Ever since the age of easy piracy and digital downloads, I haven't found joy in getting games.

But I still really appreciate the joy I get from finally playing something that just feels good.

Skyrim, only game that got me so hyped up.
Maybe AoE 2 HD too, although it got old really fast (I've played it for 10 years+ already so that's no surprise). Still, very happy they remade that classic, 10/10

Last night I was looking at a web page with BBW gassy Asian midget amputees....

Oh for a game?

Probably it was Plague Inc, I can't put my finger on it but the game just makes me so happy... Could be it satisfies my desire to destroy humanity in the most miserable way possible?

Either way I am down to 2 plagues left that I just can't seem to beat on hard mode.

Probably when I got Brawl way back when it launched. Had been playing Melee for ages, continuously checked the Brawl website for the occasional updates (Like I do now with the picture of the day thing, honestly) and I was just so excited for it lol. Maybe we'll see a repeat performance once we get closer to October, I'm already pretty stoked for the new smash lol.

>Insert obvious orgasm joke here

Last time I suppose was probably when my Collectors edition of Dark Souls 2 came in the mail. Didn't end up being my favorite Souls game, but regardless I still love the series to death.

Does it count if my head exploded afterwards? SMT4 was a huge boom to me. I was only somewhat interested but i decided to pick it up on a whim with a giftcard... totally worth it.

In many occasions I enjoyed my time a lot with certain games I didn't know I would have, but there was no hype before, so I'll skip those.

There was a time I played Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky nearly every night for more than a year. Every fucking morning I would look for news for a new PMD game, no kidding. I really, REALLY wanted for this to happen.
Then one day I hear the announcement and I feel 10 again. Wait, Japan only? Fuck...
Months pass by, and now I'd be looking for confirmations of the game being released outside Japan. Then America was confirmed, and then, Europe.

I downloaded the game at midnight, as soon as it was available in the eShop. It was ok. I was not disappointed, nor too happy about it.
