Gaming How close are we to a region free solution for 3DS or Wii U?

I'm not too interested in pirating so I rather not have to buy a flashcart if possible, I want some sort of freeloader device similar to what Datel released with the GC years ago. Just recently they announced a game I really like but not here for the US, I'd import it if it werent for a certain lock preventing me from enjoying it.

If on a 3DS firmware 4.1 <-> 4.5 , then there is already a region-free solution not involving a physical flash cartridge. Any higher firmwares, no public exploits, no crystal ball.

When talking about the Wii U... again, what do you want, a crystal ball?

How close are we from people stop posting the stupid questions all the time... about as close as a region free solution to 3ds and Wii not close at all:-) only way u can play a region free game on 3ds is a flash cart with 4.1-4.5 not other way is possible and for the Wii currently there is nothing for regionfree

Its not that stupid to ask, you think with the 3DS releasing in 2011 we would have something by now which is why I ask. If its annoying to you feel free to post in any other topic. Have a nice day.

It's just a rather glib question that does not take into consideration the firmware dependent aspect of 3DS hacking.
For a start, you don't bother to mention which firmware you have.

There is not, and probably never will be, a region free hack working on latest firmware. Nintendo will patch anything that comes up.
If you have 4.x, however, you are good to go.

These loose, poorly formulated questions are just frustrating more than anything else.
The more effort you put into your post, the better the response will be.

Yeah I'm on the latest firmware and no I was not expecting a free way to region free my 3DS but at the same time I dont want to have to purchase a flashcart to do that too, nothing against piracy. I just dont wanna buy a whole cart for 1-2 games.

Except that a DS-mode flashcart is enough and those can be bought for under 10$, not 30k.

Not on the latest firmware, you still need 4.1-4.5. But yes, that can be done with a DS2. All you need to do is install the Gateway loader which can be done from any DS-mode flashcart.

damn, at least thats a relief knowing I dont have to buy something else. I'll either way till a region free solution happens or sadly...........pirate it. If an emulator ever does arise. Whichever comes first.

The mystical 4.x firmware, would have allowed me to play japanese games... I hope we see a 6.x hack sometime, but I dont really have high hopes for ever seeing another big hack blowout.
