I know we have all been waiting for the 3rd gen remakes but now their announcement raises the usual question: Which version are you getting? Ruby, Sapphire, or since Delta Emerald got announced will you hope GF breaks the trend and releases a third remake?
I mean they could implement crystal's content in HG/SS but they can't add emerald's (both teams in the same game and all)

Its going to be like Heart Gold and Soul Silver where they incorporate the 3rd game add on's into the predecessors.
The 1st two games are always to test waters before the 3rd installment every gen, but because these are remakes there's no need to test any waters so there 99% won't be an Emerald remake. The trademark of the name isn't an announcement, merely safeguarding I believe.

Alpha Sapphire all the way.

Yeah, the Delta Emerald probably means nothing, just like all those other registered unused Pokemon game names. And while they can't add the story content that Emerald had, there only being one team sure as hell isn't stopping them from adding the Battle Frontier or the millions of double battles that Emerald had, among other things. The only thing I can think of that would be problematic are the Groudon/Kyogre caves after the e4, and those aren't needed anyway.
And story in Pokemon doesn't matter anyway.

Starting from earliest to newest, theres a trend in Pokemon we haven't seen since Diamond and Pearl.

Pokemon HeartGold and Soul Silver saw SpiritCrystal version.
Pokemon White and Pokemon Black saw no Gray version.
Pokemon White 2 and Pokemon Black 2 saw no Gray 2 version.
Pokemon X and Pokemon Y saw no Z version.

While we're on the subject of remakes, Pokemon LeafGreen and Fire Red saw no ElectricYellow version.

Pokemon OmegaRuby and AlphaSaphire is likely not to get a Beta/Delta/UltimaEmerald version.

I doubt there'll actually be Delta Emerald. As mentioned before, it's probably just a trademark thing. That said, I'm gonna get Omega Ruby. Reason? Omega's my favorite Greek letter and Ruby was my first GBA Pokemon edition. :P

ever since black and white, the rules have changed. you will never be sure again, if they make a 3rd game or not.
and considering that these are remakes, its even less likely you'll get a 3rd game anyways

there might be Pokemon z with the whole zygard business i dont know i at least hope so :)

Given that there is more than one unreleased signature move for Zygarde, I'll say X2 / Y2 or XZ / YZ, akin to B2W2.

Or... they won't release both games and just release a freaking event Zygarde....

Anyhow, AS for myself and OR for my sister.

So, we'll have both.

might as well be special moves you can get in the remakes, or next gen. or whatever. not everything's a hint

Most unreleased moves were released in the same generation.

Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn and Hydro Cannon was first found in RS, and it made it's way into FireRed LeafGreen officially.
Volt Tackle, also found in RS, made its way into Emerald officially.

Judgment was found in DP, however instantly recognized to be Arceus' moves, since the Hall of Origin Arceus has that move.
Arceus was first distributed officially after the release of Platinum (JP).

Freeze Shock and Ice Burn was found in Black and White, and the moves suggests the combination of Ice and Lightning or Fire (Zekrom/Reshiram),
which was the basis of Black 2 and White 2.

So Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves are not so obvious,
but since there are two moves, I'll say a B2/W2 repeat phenomenon is possible.

PS: One of the only moves that didn't follow this trend is V-create.
The name would suggest that it's Victini's signature move, but a Rayquaza Event from JP also received it. (Though to note, Arceus with Roar of Time, Spacial Rend and Shadow Force has been released before)
Even so, Victini isn't part of any legendary trio, so it doesn't affect the creation of a 'new game'.

I always felt like the third pokemon game out of the two ( for example: pokemon yellow is the mid between blue and red; crystal is between silver and gold; emerald between sapphire and ruby...etc) is somehow "unreal." it just seems like they offer too much in those games. I prefer sapphire overall.

While completely possible,

I believe Ninty/GF will milk our funds sufficiently by creating a new game.
But still unlikely to be a single game.

Think of Thousand arrows being Zygarde shooting out Xerneas' Horns,
and Thousand waves being Zygarde flapping Yveltal's Wings. (complete speculation)

Anyway to prevent complete sidetrack,
Image if the games exclusives remained the same as RS:
Those who want to get Mega Sableye needs to get AS
