There's been time after time over the years. "Lunch Time," "Me Time," "Space Time," everything is getting its own time.

Well, Origin is joining the fray with its revolutionary new sense of time - Game Time. Also, they're letting you play games free for a limited time, which is nice, I guess.

Play Titanfall on PC for Free

It’s Game Time! This is a brand new program on Origin: it’s free time with full games. Origin Game Time isn’t a demo, it’s the full game playable for free for as long as there’s time on your Game Time clock. And we’re kicking off Origin Game Time with a truly massive experience: Titanfall on PC.

This weekend you’ll be able to download Titanfall and play for free for two days straight. Origin Game Time for Titanfall has launched and you can start downloading now!

This is similar to Valve's own Steam Free Weekends with one unique twist: it's not limited to the weekend. The clock begins right when you begin playing the game, whether it be that very day or on the following Wednesday.

This is a really cool move, and I'm glad to see EA tak- wait, wait a minute, Johnson, roll back the tape. Oh. Oh. Ohhhh.

EA, your evil knows no bounds.

So it's basically a Steam free weekend, except you can save it for later? At first I thought it meant that I got to keep playing whenever I wanted until I've dumped 48 hours into it and it expired.

"Suck on my free games, inferior cheapskate race scum!"

Seriously though, trials like this are a nice gesture. Sure, you won't accomplish much in two days, but at least you'll get to try more than in a normal demo.

That pic made me laugh my ass off... If I didn't think it was inappropriate I would probably use it for my avatar it's just so over the top lol

I guess it's a nice move. Personally, I stay the hell away from this, just as I stay away from all forms of free-with-a-catch things (including steam's free weekends and FtP games).

Policies like this are meant to sucker you into buying games you otherwise wouldn't have bought. And it sort of creeps me out how more and more game companies seem to copy sales techniques by drug pushers ('the first sample's free, my friend').

If it weren't 50 Gigs for a 2-day demo, I may have d/l-ed it...
I'd spend more time downloading than playing...

It unpacks as you download so that 50 GB Download it waves around is actually more like 20-25 excluding patches and DLC. It's 50 Gigs worth of files but you're only downloading like half that.

I don't think drug dealers invented the concept of free trials/samples. It'd probably be more accurate to say that dealers copied sales techniques from salesmen.

Still, wouldn't be a bad slogan... "Titanfall: It's like crack."

Nice feature, if I could be assed to download Titanfall I might partake...but 25-50GBs? Nah.

I was also "wtf didn't this suppose to run with Source engine?" and downloaded it. Answer is it's 90% audio files and best part is it actually still unpacks it after download! It took almost an hour to unpack.
