okay I am a HUGE Pokemon fan I own practically every pokemon game there is :) So my problem had all started as you could probably imagine while I was playing Pokemon on my gateway 3ds on firmware 4.2, I had purchased the console BRAND NEW only a week ago and I had been playing Pokemon non-stop. However, while I was playing the console it suddenly completely froze on me and I was not able to do anything, so I naturally held the power button until the console turned off. I tried booting up the console again, but instead what happened, is that all I saw was the blue light and NOTHING else, the backlight to the screens didn't show, no WiFi, nothing, but the blue light glowing without turning off. I was relieved to not hear a popping sound and assume something inside was broken, but I was frustrated that my newly brought 3ds xl was not working :( soooo I tried powering it on again and again, removing the sd card, game card, stylus, battery and ect. and like a gift of hope my 3ds xl turned on YEAH!! :nds: however while it was on, in about four seconds at the home screen the 3ds xl FROZE AGAIN and I had to turn it off again, I was more than devastated  but I continued to keep powering it on, this time with the ds card pokemon black 2 in my hand so that if it was the gateway exploit causing the problem I could instantly get rid of it by playing the game. It turned on ounce again YEAH!!! :yaynds: and i was quickly able to play the game before the console froze again. While in the game nothing went wrong I was able to play, no freezes or nothing. During the time it was working I thought of a solution to the problem by formatting the system memory to restore my 3ds xl since it was almost completely new, I quickly formatted and the 3ds xl worked again like a charm no freezes anymore :) SOOOO my STUPID SELF tried the exploit ounce again without updating the firmware to 4.5 or anything and eventually it froze yet again in gateway mode where I had to hold the power button yet again until it turned off. THIS TIME IT DIDN'T COME BACK ON  I had tried every trick in the book. holding the power button for ten seconds on start-up, removing the battery, removing the sd card, game card etc. All that shows is the blue light glowing on FOREVER, the system could charge and ect. Nevertheless, to tell whether it was the 3ds xl or the motherboard I had completely did a motherboard swap with a working 3ds xl and to my unfortunate suprise the 3ds xl worked fine it was the motherboard that had the problem. After a day of trying to turn it back on and failing I had assumed it had overheated and I put the motherboard in the freezer for about 30 minutes I took it out tried again and still COMPLETE failure :hateit: . I just brought this console and I have no money left to really repair it and the console is too old to be applied for warranty through nintendo and even if it did they would just update it to the latest version and I have no idea of the parts and how to install the nand read and write flash mod, even though I have a nand backup and I REALLY WANT the mod. The last solution I could think to the problem is a nand re-flash, but I have no soldering experience  and I KNOW I would mess up. I know that the console still must be working, because the blue light stays on, does anyone know how to fix this problem, is there anything I can put on my sd card and put into the console at startup, or can anyone preferably in the United States be willing to fix this console for around $34 on two separate debit cards, that is all the money I sadly have left, after you know buying the console. Help please :( I really
want to play pokemon on my 3ds again, any response will be appreciated!!!!

Update 6:21 pm

The 3ds xl still does not work however strangely enough after two days when I remove the wifi card completely and power on the console the wifi signal light actually shows, yeah, I gues its a new sign of hope and possible indicator that something is wrong with the wifi quite possibly

Complete shot in the dark but, have you tried opening the 3DS XL and checking if the Wi-Fi board is really stuck into place? Maybe you got lucky and when you moved the console, the Wi-Fi board made contact, pretty sure if you get a Gateway brick you just end up with a blue screen on your 3DS.

TL;DR

You live in a first world coutry, use your warranty. Or go to the store where you bought it.

Sometimes, its okay to read.

I don't have any suggestions or answers to your problem and I don't have any scientific source for what I'm going to write, but here goes.
Try not to put more electronics in the refrigerator, since the temperature differences can create moisture on the inside and do more damage.

Here's hoping that you somehow get your 3DS fixed, by the way, how come that you don't have warranty left on a week old product?

One question, try holding L+R+UP+A and then press POWER and see if the 3DS boots up, if it does it will bring you back to the update screen, do not update if you don't want to, this is just to see if the 3DS is indeed booting properly.
