What people forget with FF VII though is that it's SE's golden egg. If the company ever hits a point where their finances are a worry, they could release a remake of FF VII as an overwhelming success on whatever Playstation system is out at the time, likely doubling up with whatever the current Microsoft console is at the time to try to increase sales. It is a surefire sale, and as long as people praise FF VII as the greatest thing since sliced bread, SE will hold onto it for a rainy day. If people ever realize that FF VII is actually a really mediocre RPG and only a so-so FF game, then SE might just go ahead and release a remake.

seriusly i cant be a coincidence they announce the game a few days after the translation is finally released, even more if they didnt had even pictures of the game translated - atleast show some kind of proof that you were working in the game for some time.
i hope skyblade has some kind of signature to his work to know if they use his translation.
If that day comes, I really hope they update the controls. Otherwise most people will come to realize how badly FFVII has aged
imo the materia system didnt aged that much... the way the game was built was because of the restrictions the console imposed (i believe it was before the system even had analogs...)
If you ever made it to the menu...I believe THAT would be the signature...
What does a console have to do with how a battle/stat system works?...
the battle/stat system has not aged that much. the materia system will work on a rpg released in 2014.
the console limitation were the use of the D-pad on a background picture with invisible walls
Guys, you realize, if SE does take the translation, they're going to edit the living hell out of it to remove all traces that they may have taken it. Companies are good at scrubbing out evidence that they stole something.
Hello I just put the translated game on my SD.
Both of my psps lockup though it varies sometimes already in game menu in the PSP OS when I click information, while other times it doesn't lockup there.
Or at the intro when it talks about saving etc... psp turns off...

@K3Nv2 I did that using Citra for 3DS games. Bottom screen was my smartphone. Until I got the touch screen. -
