Today was a big day at WWDC 2014. Apple unveiled the next OS upgrades this year with iOS 8.0 and OSX 10.10. A lot of new features are coming in the near future:

OSX 10.10 Yosemite
New UI Flatter like 7
iCloud Drive
iPhoto in the Cloud
Convergence this is huge have a Call from iPhone answer it on Mac, also includes SMS and TXTS non iMessage
Spotlight overhaul search like Google
iOS 8.0

Widgets
3rd Party Keyboards
Homekit
Heath, Health kit
Spotlight overhaul
Hey, Siri

For developers
lots of new stuff
Swift new programming language
purchase apps in bulk
beta test apps
apps can now communicate between eachother

Such innovation, many features
Apple would implement these features natively so ios 8 would nice for a better performance

Android had all of the "features" a loooooooooong time ago.



even the new Samsung Tizen is better than iOS.

Seriously though, the updates are interesting. Only odd thing I can still see in Apple's strategy is iMessages. The service is nice and very integrated into iOS, but lacks a key feature: cross-platform compatibility. The US is probably the only market with a stable amount of iOS users, but the rest of the world is a completely different matter.

But as always, WWDC is something not really focused on the consumer, but instead on the developers. Swift seems interesting and quite a few of my friends seem to want to try it out.
