What game should I use (US) to update my 3DS for gateway compatibility, its currently on the original 3DS firmware from launch.
So a good choice would be Luigi's Mansion 2?Check out here.

Edit: Just go above 4.1. It has had some issues in the past with Gateway. Most people update to 4.5. I'm on 4.2 and have had no issues though.
I like the game. Most people use that one since it is a good game that you can actually enjoy after you use it. In the end, I would see if there was a game on that list that you would like and buy it (or if you already have it, even better!)So a good choice would be Luigi's Mansion 2?

Truthfully, ill prob just go rent it That would be the best idea tho.you don't have to like the game or even buy it.
if you don't know anyone with it, I'd suggest getting it from Gamestop then returning it within the trial period which is 7 days unless it's preowned then it's 14 days. You get your money back, it's easy.
That's a bit of a cheapskate way of doing it, but a victimless crime at the end of the day. I'd do it with a pre-owned copy though, I just don't think it's appropriate to do so with a mint game that someone else might want to buy (then again, Gamestop is notorious for opening the game boxes anyways, so they're not *really* mint, they just haven't been used yet).you don't have to like the game or even buy it.

I have friends who do this instead of renting games lolThat's a bit of a cheapskate way of doing it, but a victimless crime at the end of the day.
