I've put off the purchase for a while since I want to be 100% certain. But since I haven't heard of any issues with the Omega release, should I go ahead and get one now?

I would say yes.

In fact I just talked about that a bit with a guy, and he said that previous bricks were caused by very minor corruption, because Gateway's checks were so picky they could possibly brick if even a single bit of data was corrupted/wrong, but that the current checks in Omega are less picky.

It's very unlikely anyone will get a brick on Omega unless they try to actually modify the Gateway firmware somehow (which is what the checks were put in place there for in the first place) or otherwise try to manipulate the Gateway or their 3DS firmware.
An ordinary user using the Gateway for its intended purposes should have no issues.

yes, you should get a gateway and wait for the next brick festival. do not worry, you will probably don't have to wait for a long time.

do not pay those guys who confess they put brick code in the current firmware.

You don't even have a Gateway or any 3DS karts and yet you whine about bricking. Really?

On topic, yes the Gateway is the best supported Flashcart for 3DS right now. There hasn't been any bricking incident since Omega was released.

Does it even still have brick code? I thought they replaced it with the new code that just takes you to the Gateway menu and refuses to let you launch Gateway mode unless you have a legit Gateway inserted into the 3DS.

yes i don't have gateway ( i love my 3ds xl, i don't want it bricked) and i have more than 10 official 3ds cards though am not against flash cards, i support them.

i am against those pricks who put brick code in their software. and as people continue to support them, they will do more.

I say go ahead and get one. I've had no problems and have not heard of anybody bricking yet on any of the forums that I haunt.

to end this story what card you poopose to this member tto buy that have the same abilities as gateway and has support ? comee oon i am all ears

He's speaking quite a lot but yet still manages to not say anything at all.

He's just ripping on GW but not provided any objective constructive information.

To the OP, there has been NO REPORTS of bricks on GW2.1. Should you get it? Yes. It's one of the two most full featured 3DS mode flashcarts in existence. Will there be bricks in the future? Lemme get my crystal ball and I'll get back to you on it.

Simply put, it seems that everything is going well. You could wait it out to see if anything changes but there is a real possibility you might end up waiting for a long time. I mean if there aren't any bricks, you can argue that there might be bricks if you wait long enough and it'll never end.

Just backup your NAND and you'll be safe from bricks as you will then have something to restore.

what i am saying:

i do not trust these guys. they once "purposefully" put brick code in their software and made a lot of 3DS brick.

i wouldn't buy from them till it is confirmed by respectful devs that new firmware(s) do not contain brick code.

that is all i say.

unlike you, i am not paying some shady company my hard earned money till i am clear of suspicion that they will "purposefully" brick my device. that is my last reply. do whatever you want, your money, your 3DS.

even legit has troubles i remember my ps3 bricked cause of an update and i waited for 2 moths for a replacement unit
Yeah there was quite a few BSOD bricks on even legit consoles, should we boycott Nintendo for including the blue screen? That means they intentionally wanted people to see it or it wouldn't exist

According to the impeccable logic of reprep , yeah. Until Nintendo explain why on earth there was a bluescreen, we should boycott them.

I finally broke down and bought a Gateway. 2.1 Omega seems to be safe and the features I have been waiting for. I am just going to wait when Gateway releases new versions.

Don't really see the point in updating it tbh

Yea you right, I thought about updating my PS3 CFW to 4.91, but why really, everything plays fine now. I guess for people that have already updated past 4.9 it would be helpful.

Thats true, personally I don't play it online at all, in fact, I deleted all wifi details on it once I installed CFW, so it won't connect and auto-update itself

I play most games that are on both PS3/360 strickly on the 360, but PS3 exclusives are really only games I play on the PS3 (You know me, I'm more of a Xbox junkie)
