Hi!
I've managed to hack my Wii and now have CFG loader and some emulators working off my external USB. The last things i'd like to do are:
1. Run WiiWare off either the USB or my SD card
2. Run Quadforce and play Mario Kart and FZero arcade games.

I'm a little lost on how to proceed with either of these options. Firstly, is it possible to do both of these (i.e. does either use a Cios that rules out the other)? I tried to run the appropriate Cios and have got WiiWare on my SD card, but when i go to the channel, the game picture appears in a small box instead of being fullscreen and tells me "failed to launch" if i try and run it.

Questions: Is Mighty Channels a better optionto run wiiware or is that outdated now? Is it still the case that Quadforce games run better from an SD card than USB? How can i tell what Cios is currently on my Wii?

I am a complete noob so forgive me if the questions appear to be stupid! I'm quite impressed that i've got this far to be honest. There's a lot of advice/posts on the web but i'm sure some of it is out of date by now. I'm running ISO 58 v.6176. Let me know if you need any more info.

I'd be really grateful for any expert advice! Thank you!

Quadforce is a custom MIOS. Only GameCube games/homebrew requires the MIOS. So quadforce only overwrites GCN support.
As for"Failed to launch" , which system menu version are you on? Any unofficially installed wads(not from shop/Nintendo Update System/Disk) would fail to launch/move/copy from the SD card. The only solution is to install a custom system IOS
(If you are on system menu 4.0or4.1, you NEED CIOS60, CIOS70 FOR 4.2 and CIOS80 for 4.3)

Warning: Make sure that the CIOS60,70,80 come from trusted sources and READ THE COMMENTS before installation!

If the system IOS is screwed up, the Wii will no longer be functional!(Commonly called Brick)

Thanks for the help! :)

GCN support isn't that important to me as i still have a Cube and just want to play the arcade games. I tried to access the NUS downloader page from your link but it's telling me i don't have permission to access it! Any ideas? So once i have the Cios, i should just be able to install Quadforce and off i go?

As for the Wiiware, i'm on menu 4.3E. The files i have work if i install them directly onto the Wii hard drive (i.e.they get their own channel and launch properly). i want to put them on the SD card to save valuable space. So i just need to find a reliable version of Cios80. Once i have that, is it a case of simply putting the files on my SD card or do i have to use the Wii's own transfer option?

Thanks again for the prompt assistance!

Cios is not needed to run quadforce. Just install quadforce and you'll be able to play arcade games.
After installing a reliable version of cios80(or some tools for patching it, which might be better), you can transfer WW and VC into the SD card by using the Wii's own transfer option. There's no way to unofficially install WW/VC directly onto the SD card AFAIK.

Have got the WiiWare on SD card issue resolved! Thanks for the advice :)

Now just for the Quadforce problem...

Edit: Actually only some of the WiiWare games work. Maybe i just have some bad files.

Edit #2: So it appears only about 1 in 10 games work off the SD card. The files work fine when they are in the Wii's memory, so it's pretty much back to the drawing board...

I tried to tackle Quadforce first. I followed the thread found here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/quadforce-a-guide-to-playing-triforce-arcade-games-on-a-wii.347411/

I have my Quadforce and RVL-MIOS-V10 wad files in my SD WAD folder and installed them using YAWM. After that, nothing new appears in the Homebrew Channel, Wii Home channel or SD home channel. Any clues where i'm going wrong?

You can't install Quadforce and MIOS v10 at the same time because they're both mioses and which ever is installed last would be overwritten overwrite by what you installed first.
Also, MIOS is not a channel, so it will not show up on the Wii Menu. You need a Dios-Mios booter to boot the game.

Edit: RVL-MIOS-V10 is for official gamecube backwards compatibility only.

You may want to reinstall the official IOS80 downloaded off the NUS and try patching it with Wii MOd.

Got it. So the tutorial only had the MIOS v10 in there just in case he ever wanted to run Gamecube files again. Okay, so i have Dios-Mios Booter including the lite version. It can now see my ISO files on the SD card but tells me apploader size is zero when i try and load them. Could it do with my SD card maybe or is there something else obviously wrong?

I'll have a look at patching IOS80 tomorrow!
